Maybe need a bit of cleanup on the back of the island, especially as it is the spot to watch the sunset

The environment is really nice, not a lot of rooms in the island, we felt quite alone, it was really restful

Facilities are not top notch, there are some constructions/repairs going on and at some times of the day there is no water. We were ok with these things, as the pros overcame them

Amazing location, the sea is beautiful and calm Great place if you want to relax and stay away from big crowds Incredible staff, friendly and nice, they genuinely want you to spend some nice time Suggestions: make sure your suite has an ocean view (ours had one and we loved reading in front of the ocean), try the cazuela and pasta frutti di mare

Rooms was a little "unfinished", peeling paint, no mosquito nets despite slatted windows. Expected better for $185 per night. More of a "$125 category".

Amazing views, beautiful water, friendly staff.

Relaxing and rechargig on a remote island!

It would have been nice to have been told that there was maintenance going on. we understand we went to a ‘remote’ place which works on generators and to miss a few hours of power per day is fine. To not have water/the toilets working during the day was not so nice. We would have appreciated being told. The contactperson via the hotel was nice and accomodating, nevertheless even though I announced my interest with dates to dive, it took me 24 hours to confirm a diving trip (during a 2 night stay) while the shop was just an island further on another resort. Due to power outages I was not reachable and my attempts via local personnel that new the instructors were unsuccesful. gladly I could make 1 dive on the day of deprture.

the location is wonderful and idyllic! we had a nice time! if you want a stay in nature and a bit remote, this place is perfect. the staff is friendly and it is a quiet relaxing place to recharge. The bungalows are basic but perfect for a couple of days away. The food is good and the swimming spots are wonderful. I recommend the hotel masseur also

the entire hotel needs a renovation. rooms unfortunately very old. not well maintained. no shower head for example. some areas with rubbish unfortunately. overall small things which should be changed but in total too many. with a little more effort this could be a much greater place.

the location is unbeatable. clear blue water and a location with lots of potential.

The buildings could do with some upgrading. They are mainly cosmetic issues (the room- sheets and pillowcases have marks and holes as do the towels etc).. The Colombian dishes are good quality but wouldn't recommend the burger or the pizza. Prices of the food are 2 or 3 times what you pay on the mainland, but you are on a remote island. The breakfast that is included has a nice fruit platter and fruit juice but the rest is nothing special, the pancakes are very nice but you pay the full price. All in all, because of the location the island is worth a visit and value for money. You don't want to stay more than a couple of days though due to the food and the condition of the room. Be sure to pay as you go or note down everything you are ordering to eat as we had some issues at check out with people ordering beers to our room.. we don't drink beer.

The island itself and the location are worth the trip. It is a beautiful place with a clear blue seas. Perfect for a swim and a couple of relaxing days with many hammocks and cabanas and plenty of shade. It wasn't very busy the days we were there so can't comment when there are more (day) people. Staff were very attentive and welcoming and provided good service.

Service was sometimes a little slow and not a lot of English spoken, so sometimes it was difficult to make the most of it.

A beautiful hotel with stunning bungalows overlooking the ocean. Food was fresh and delicious. As it is set apart from the main island, it’s a lot quieter so great to relax, plus incredible snorkelling just off the beach.

The food on the second night was not as described and not as delivered on the previous evening. The boat was an hour later leaving on the way back, but no body informed us that it would be late.

The location is amazing - we deliberately chose this hotel as we wanted to be removed from the busy, bustling chaos of our lives. We wanted a place a to chill out and disconnect. The island is perfect for this - it was very quiet while we were there, and as it is so remote with little to do, you can really relax. The food was generally good; Carlos was an excellent host; the cocktails were great (although wine choices were limited), and the two Jose's were keen to offer their boating services should we want to explore further afield. The junior suite provided plenty of space for the two of us - we didnt stay in them, but the suites overlooking the ocean looked blissful and very spacious.

The staff.. and we stayed 3 days. I know sometimes things happens but when the service is constantly bad for 3 days thats not good. The gave us our room an hour later. 4pm. Nobody really wanted to solve the problem. They ran out of beef and chicken and octopus so like 60% of the menu. Then they wanted to charge me 25 mil pesos for extra bacon that I ordered for breakfast. Just genuinely not looking to accommodate us nor feel us welcome.

Amazing location, cristal clear beaches. Perfect for snorkeling

The bathrroms could be better. They seemed to have some issues with water and electricity. But not too bad.

Amazing food, the sea ist fantastic and you can jump into the water and snorkel 2 steps away from your room. The room is rustic but big and pretty. Lovely!

The lady that served us breakfast looked like she needed coffee herself. Really, almost zero attention from staff, which can be a good thing if you don't want to be bothered (🙋‍♀️). But when you asked for something, you also got no smiles, no hospitable attitude, compared to other hotels.

I have visited many islands in Colombia, but Isla Del Pirata has THE BEST water colors that's UNBELIEVABLE! But also, the ocean current, while not TOO strong, but is noticeably strong. Also, before going, we read many reviews to bring our own food, because food didn't taste good at Isla Del Pirata. I'm writing this review mostly to say the food WAS GOOD. We ordered burgers (30,000 each) for lunch (both meat and chicken), and breakfast was good too. The rest of the menu, besides club sandwich (25,000) is, I think, very pricy, compared to what food typically cost even in high-end hotels/other islands (except Cholon with its ridiculous prices).
