Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Excellent price for the value, probably the best in the area. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice, close to the airport and gets the job done. They also prepared food and dried my clothes which was nice.

Comfy bed, good breakfast (bread, eggs, fruit, chocolate milk, juice) clean. Didn’t have time to look around location wise as we only stayed one night for a layover

United StatesThe food options were not very healthy (too much sugar for breakfast, too many fried foods for dinner). Some maintenance items need attention (for example, the window the fell out of the frame when I tried to open it). And the location is noisy.
The best part about this place was the price. But the shower was good and the bed was comfortable. The location is pretty convenient to both the airport and the bus terminal. Staff are nice and helpful. I love that they provide a water bottle filling station!

The breakfast is small but good and the staff are all very kind. The location is great, and it had hot and clean water and a working shower drain!

United StatesI lug around a lot of luggage and there's no elevator and I had to get a flight at 4:00 in the morning and it was rather noisy for me to manipulate all the bags that I needed to get down the stairs.
Very friendly people to deal with I enjoyed the patio out front and the bed was exquisite not only that but the Netflix and other usable television additions were a nice touch.

United StatesI did not sleep well the first night. There was a plastic sheet on the bed that protects the bed. But was not comfortable to sleep on. It provoked me to sweat. But after I removed it... I slept well.
The breakfast was delicious. The staff was professional and courteous. The property is ideal. It is a peaceful place in the city. It is close to the Trans Milenio which allows you many choices.

United Statescheck in experience wasn't great, had to wait a bit before I got someone in, the area doesn't look safe (confirmed by the owner; she said it's ok for her to go in the evening as she's from around but not for a foreigner). the booking.com price was apparently not something she liked and mentioned it (as if I was the one who decided what the price should be).
cost was ok, post check in staff experience was good as well. got everything you need for a short stay near the airport. breakfast was offered and looked ok but I didn't have time to enjoy it, was leaving for the airport.

ChinaThe main problem is the bathroom - it was small and poorly ventilated, so it quickly gets smelly. The staff were aloof and, while nice, not very useful or helpful (for example, regarding information about a daytrip to Villa de Leyva).
The location was great. The room was comfortable. The common area of the guest house was very quirky and cool, with lots of antiques around.

Canadaa small point but the mattress has a plastic cover on it which crinkles and is a little hot. it's a little noisy with planes coming and going at the nearby airport.
It was of a much higher quality than the price would suggest. Very newly modelled with high-end materials, extremely clean. Great location handy to airport and Salitre terminal, and TransMilenio.

SpainNo hot water. Shower had hairs in the wall. Stained sheets that had hairs on them. Made me think they didn't even change the sheets from the previous guests. No staff in the morning other than two young girls. They had no idea what do to fix the hot water situation. No technician came and no manager even hours after they realised the problem.
Well decorated. Good location for airport access.

United StatesNot much bad to say about the hotel. Again, I was a little surprised because I did not realize that it was a converted home from the pictures. But that wasn't really a negative. I think the neighborhood was pretty safe to walk around during the day. There were only small stores in walking distance to buy drinks or snacks. I'm not sure anything is close enough to do a proper grocery store trip, but then I don't know why you'd need that. There is no refrigerator in the room, so you wouldn't have a place to store food.
The JB Mansion is about 10 minutes from the airport even in moderate traffic. The cab driver was able to find it easily, which is sometimes a bit of a trick in Bogota. The hotel is a converted house. Don't expect a classic hotel set up with a lobby, check-in desk, concierge, etc. There is dining room downstairs, a sort of lounge and the rooms are upstairs. The lady who ran the operation, Claudia, was super-nice. I checked in late and she told me to not worry about paying until the next day. She cooks the meals and they are very good...better than what you'd usually find at a hotel restaurant, I think. The portions are big, almost impossible to finish unless you have a huge appetite. The room was sufficient for a day or three. Bed, closet, attached bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained. Claudia speaks a little English. My Spanish is pretty basic, but we were easily able to communicate and probably could have done so just with her English. There are two dogs that live at the hotel. They are both friendly, but if you don't like dogs you might want to make a note when making your reservation. They can keep the dogs away from the main area if needed. As far as security, there is a gate, a small outdoor patio, then the door to the hotel. Everything remains locked. You may be given a key to let yourself in and out. It's a good arrangement. I will definitely stay there again.
