Lovely property 8 minute walk to entrance of Tayrona. Really nice pool and beautiful spot to do yoga in the morning. Not a social hostel when we were there but with 2 friends it was the perfect place to relax after 2 days in the park.

The food was ok, the room was hotter than outside and even with the fan and windows open all day it didn’t really cool down.

Felt very homely, mama Tayrona herself is very lovely. Very much a nestled jungle experience. The outdoor shower was a highlight.

Unfortunately ended up paying for a higher priced room due to a double booking at Booking.com (after I was unable to locate the first booking the day before I left). But thankfully I was only charged once by the hostel who were not rude about it and it was not that big of an issue. The biggest disappointment, though, was that I had planned for a morning swim when I awoke, but they were cleaning the pool that morning and the pool had been drained, The staff had not communicated or provided any warning or notification that this would be done the day before which was unfortunate.

Great location close to the entry of Tayrona National Park. The natural springs pool (and the natural beauty of the hostel) were the highlights of my stay. Relaxing in the pool watching hummingbirds and seeing a family of monkeys the afternoon I arrived were a couple of my top memories. The older lady (owner's mom, I believe) and front desk woman were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet room and quality sleep. Happy to have been able to leave a piece of luggage there for a couple of days without additional cost.

Great location to hike from Calabazo entrance. You can leave your luggage while hiking in Tayrona park. Good food options. Good breakfast.

The only downfall was the fresh water pool that was slimey and full of algae. It would have been nice to have a clean pool to enjoy.

Very comfortable, friendly staff and cozy rooms. Since being in Colombia, and previously living in Mexico, we have disliked the disregard that these cultures have for their animals. Especially dogs. It was refreshing to see a hostal that cared for, fed and acknowledged their animals. We even had the pleasure of seeing them cook the dogs a fresh meal.

The room itself could use proper renovation, especially the bathroom facilities seemed very old and rusty. You could tell the room wasn't cleaned well-enough. The building where we stayed didn't have proper sound insulation, so we could hear a lot of noises from rooms next to us, which were least to say awkward. We didn't use the pool due to lack of time, but just passing next to it you could see it hasn't been cleaned properly either. All in all, it's an okay place to stay if you close the eye on cleanliness and don't mind the neighbour noises. They apply a 4% extra charge if you pay by card, I wasn't able to find that information on their Booking page.

We liked the location - it's like you stay in the middle of a forest with quite some wildlife to spot when you walk around. The breakfast was nice and prepared fresh. One of the staff members was also very helpful with providing advice on what to visit nearby.

Room was a bit unclean we requested to change due to some mattress issues but everything was sorting out with ease. Getting information from the lady at the check in was like trying to get blood out of a stone she told us nothing when checking in and just passed us the room keys.

The location and scenery is everything here if you love animals this is the place I saw more bird species staying here for 2 days then I have in 6 weeks travelling in colombia it's also close to Tayrona park entrance and costeno beach, the swimming pool and views from the hotel were amazing.

The toilet is not only located outside of the room but also outside of the building on the ground floor. Adjacent to it is the next shared bathroom. However, due to its proximity, there isn't much privacy regarding sounds. Notably, it's more of a hostel atmosphere here. Many of the staff working at the check-in or bar are volunteering backpackers. Just something to be aware of.

Food and drinks were nice. Owner was helpful and speaks english (native speaker). Surroundings are beautiful. It is close to the calabazo entrance. If you ask they will call mototaxis to pick you up from the hotel and bring to the middle of the hike.

The pool was a bit unclean on our first night, but when we stayed a few days later it had been cleaned.

This was easily one of the best places we stayed in Colombia. Great food, perfect location out in the jungle but close to Tayrona park entrance, and lovely spaces to relax. The staff were very kind and even stored a pair of headphones that I accidentally left behind so that I could reclaim them a few days later. Make sure you have the pizza!

Wi-Fi wasn't very reliable at the time. A suggestion for improvement: Besides the food menu, consider creating a list/menu with associated rates for drinks and other available services like laundry. The food/drink ordering system could slightly been improved too (noticed a couple of mixed orders on my checkout bill). Nothing dramatic, had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Mama Tyrona!

Facilities are a 10/10: beautiful spot, well maintained garden, swimming pool with views on a stunning landscape. Rooms are very comfortable: spacious dorms with A/C, mosquito nets, large lockers. Location: 10 min walk from one of the park's entrances (Calabazo). Atmosphere with the other travellers was great as well.
