Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThere was no hot water at the hotel (it was actually in their hotel rules that we had to read when checking in) which was very annoying. The bedrooms also don't have any windows and instead there are frosted sliding doors which we thought unnecessary.
Room was very clean, the bed was comfy and it was across the street from the beach. Wifi was also good.

United StatesThe property is guarded so you need the guard to open and close the gate as you come and go. It can be a bit of a pain. Also, like most of the island, there is no hot water. You would assume that because the place is newly built and has a modern look that they would have hot water.
Having access to Cocoplum beach hotel restaurant and the beach was a big plus for us. The staff here are all really nice and accommodating. The place is very clean and the furnishings are all kept in new condition.

BrazilI think the noise outside the hotel can annoy a little bit (high music playing at night) and a accoustic treatment could be considered. A window that we could open would be welcome too, but I understand the structure is what it is.
I liked it was a quiet place and the alliance with the other hotel works good. I loved the cleanliness and the attention of the staff. They were very kind and attentive to me.

SwitzerlandThe breakfast is in other Hotel and not really good. For this price bad. The only good point is that you have a view on the sea. I was really disappointed. Other important point is the wifi. Near the office stable and in the evening from 3 days it was working two days.
The accomodation is new and closed to the beach. The rooms are not so huge but ok. All is clean and the place is safe.

ColombiaThey should make an agreement with near stores that play music so loud at night in order to restrict sound leven hours. Although it was not an issue for me, maybe it does for other customers.
It was very confortable as offered. The staff was very nice and the food was great. The location is quite central for all attractions.

ColombiaThere was loud music close to the hotel at night in the weekend (Saturday) which made sleeping difficult. Fortunately during the week there was no loud music. The manager said that they did everything possible to solve this, but locals there just don't seem to care much.
Very friendly service. They gave us a lot of good information about the island. Room and bathroom were very modern and clean. Excellent Wi-fi. Good location near Cocoplum beach.

United StatesNo hot water in shower or sink. The bed was hard as a rock. Language was a problem many times if you don't know Spanish. Had trouble exchanging dollars to pesos. No bank in town. American dollars were pretty useless. Exchange money the minute you get off the plane. Few places took credit cards. Lots of mosquitos so thank goodness we had lots of repellent.
Breakfast was across the street at Cocoplum Hotel which was great, good hot breakfast, delicious coffee. Location was fantastic! Lots of lizards to play with in the courtyard. Well kept premises. Housekeeping every day. Good restaurants nearby to walk to for lunch and dinner. Didn't need a car. Rented a "mule" small jeep for 1 day to go all over the island. Taxis were 25,000 COP and bus was 3,600 COP into downtown.

ColombiaJust a few small things to note. The mattress on the bed is quite hard so not the most comfortable. There is a bar next door that play very loud music at night. Also, there are limited restaurants in the area (sadly The Grog Rocky Cay, one of the most highly rated restaurants on TripAdvisor is no longer there) so if you want meal variety you need to head into the city center.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! every single one of them! the location is great as Rocky Cay Beach is right across the street. the hotel has a deal with the Cocoplum Hotel so that is where you eat breakfast. Also you can stay on their private beach for 30,000 COP per person per day.

Canadathe hotel was not on the beach but had an arrangement with Cocoplum for guests to take breakfast there. the beach at Cocoplum could be used for 30,000 each per day. this fee was put towards drinks and meals, so it was an okay arrangement. Cocoplum meals were excellent unfortunately on our second night (Saturday) loud music was playing until 5 in the morning at a nearby property no sleep that night

ItalyThe rooms are claustrophobic with satin windows that don’t allow to see outside. It’s also not possible to keep the windows open given that the rooms are on the ground floor and people walking by can see you. Moreover, there was not hot water and the wifi worked poorly. Also, there is a very loud bar nearby the played music until 4AM. Finally, there was the loud noice of the AC external unit keep going all night long
The property is in a good location, right across one of the main beaches of the island. It also has a partnership with the hotel Cocoplum by the beach where hosts can enjoy a nice breakfast and free sun beds
