How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Host is amazing. Really helpful and informative Beautiful hostel layout with 2 kitchens. Hot showers and comfy beds. Perfect stay.

Could do with another bathroom with a shower. There was 4 of us sharing one bathroom (this was not at full capacity) and when we were all showering in the morning it was a bit of a nightmare, especially when people had buses to catch etc.
Everything. It felt more like a home than a hostel. I especially liked the reading area upstairs

I was unable to open a window in my room, so it got pretty stuffy
Lovely place, with great facilities. The staff is very kind :) Spotless clean and the best shower I’ve had in my 7 week travel! Small walk to the plaza.

Excellent hostel. Great location, comfortable bed, hottest shower I’ve had on my trip, access to kitchen, beautifully decorated. Ximena is great - welcomed us with a helpful map and tips on good places to go. There’s a fair amount of street noise at night/mornings but this would be the case in any hostel located near the center of town - loved the walkability to the plaza, cafes, etc. Highly recommend this hostel.

It would be better to increase the lights in the room. But overall no defeacts.
Everything. Very large room and bathroom with all the commodities. The hostal is very beautiful and close to the bus terminal. It was very comfortable to reach the bus in the morning and without taking a taxi.

Xavi's good vibes stand out. The hostel is very well located and in the middle of the independence it offers, it also has a family atmosphere. It is comfortable for teleworking and has enough space to rest in addition to the bed.

We thought the roof was higher but everything was ok!
Nibiru is such a great place to stay. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. You wouldn't have to walk long to get to the main square and its surrounding areas.

There was no plug outlet for charging if your bunk bed is on the top.

Wonderful stay here. Friendly staff. The hostel is walking distance from all restaurants, shops, bus station etc. Grocery stores just around the corner. Nice space to chill on 2nd floor, a guitar if you play ;) The dorm rooms had super comfortable beds. Nice well stocked kitchen on both floors. Wifi was great, never problems. Would definitely stay again next time in Vllia de Leyva :D

For the design / price the beds & pillows aren’t comfy and missing a chair or something in the room. The bathroom smelled and there was a lot of noise from the street from 6am (not the fault of the hostel, but to be aware of)
Very convenient location near bus and easy to walk around. Friendly staff. Stylish design & useful kitchen. Overall a great bolthole for a few days away.

There are 2 dormrooms downstairs and the family has its bedroom also downstairs so for 3 rooms if fully occupied than just 1 bathroom which includes the toilet is quite the wait. When I arrived I got my keys and a map and got showed where the dorm and bathroom was and that was it. I didn't even check in. If I wanted I could have just left cause I had to knock on the door to check out and pay....

Small cute hostel, very nice located and always super clean! There’s two kitchens (one downstairs for the dorms and one upstairs for the privates). My room (private) was very spacious and cute, super nice to rest! The staff is also very friendly, gracias para toro ! :)
