Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot dislikes - but a couple of things to note: 1) Cash is king! You need to have cash to pay for the accommodation, trips etc. There are lots of ATMs in Leticia though. 2) There is no wifi at Palmayacu - so get a local SIM!
We really loved our visit to the Amazon – the rainforest, the river, the people all surpassed our expectations, and the heat, humidity and mosquitos were better than anticipated. It really should be on everyone’s list of destinations! We also enjoyed the ‘buzz’ of Leticia ….but are glad that we stayed outside of town at Palmayacu. Sleeping in the edge of the jungle gave us a real sense of the environment (even if it meant being woken by cockerels and dogs barking each morning). The accommodation is as expected in such a remote location – cabins with cold showers – but we loved it. Marta and her staff are all lovely and helpful (although a couple of misunderstandings would have been avoided if we spoke better Spanish). Breakfast is good, with fruit and eggs prepared as you wish. We also used the cooking facilities. Staying at Palmayacu gives you easy access to a number of rainforest activities (walks, zip-wires, bird watching etc) and there is a basic restaurant and a couple of stores nearby. Leticia has some decent restaurants (even for veggies like us) and it’s easy to get into town on a ‘collectivo’ or tuk tuk.

United StatesBreakfast was a perfect representation of the local cuisine! We loved the local fruit and the flexibility in timing to meet our schedule needs. Marta was a fantastic host and helped us plan all of our activities, book our taxis, find restaurants in town and she even brought in dinner the nights we didn't want to head into Leticia. We loved the rooms, which had comfortable beds, were perfectly clean and we loved the hammocks for reading. The property is in a beautiful, quiet, lush location and the design of the rooms is fabulous. We also enjoyed the homey feel of the shared central space for reading, eating and hanging out. It is SO much nicer to stay here than in the busy, noisy town and it's just a quick cab ride to get to town when you want to shop or eat out. We also LOVED the sound of the pouring rain on the roof of our room at night. Such a treat!

United KingdomGreat stay, lovely place and the owner Marta was great too. The rooms are set in a beautiful tropical garden well out of the noise of Leticia (though regular bus to centre). Both the wooden buildings (rooms and the geodesic communal kitchen and lounge) and the garden are really elegant and well maintained. Marta was very patient with our lack of Spanish and managed to arrange us a week of activities and accommodation in Leticia and Puerto Nariño at very short notice when our tour booked elsewhere fell through. In particular, she put us in touch with Larry in Puerto Nariño, who in turn took us over for a nature tour in a small rowed boat with guide Daniel around the Peruvian village of San Antonio - perhaps the highlight of our trip to Colombia. Would love to have stayed longer just relaxing there and playing with Marta's friendly dogs, and would definitely go back to Palmayacu if can get to Leticia again.

United Kingdomon returning to the site after your day you might notice two or three dogs - they bark but do not bite. that might startle some but didn’t bother us. I genuinely can’t suggest any improvements.
the location is ideal - it’s set back a little way from the town itself and feels quite remote. once there you’re led along a raised footpath that includes a small wooden bridge and across over to the lodge where you’re staying. the lodging building we stayed in was perfectly waterproofed during a very heavy storm. I loved that it included a hammock. it’s very well thought through in terms of layout; all lodges lead to a central-feeling eating house that contains the kitchen and several tables and chairs. it is incredibly modest and I can’t believe Marta and co have only been operating for five months - it honestly feels timeless, or removed from time. the rooms themselves are garnished with thorough zancudo nets, and I relished the en-suite shower. it was humbling to stay here.

GermanyAs expected water in shower was pretty cold :(
Rooms are new and nicely integrated in a beautiful green area and provide everything needed. We were surprised not to be bothered much by moskitos due to nets and it was a nice experience to listen to pure jungle sound at night. The owners are absolutely gorgeous and super friendly helping us with tours, preparing typical food and lemonades and giving us advises.

Netherlandsno restaurant service and the nearby restaurant wasn’t always open when I wished it was, no silent hours and the rooms are quite noisy as you can hear your neighbors easily, pricy for what you get, no curtains so yea you could see the jungle but anyone around can see you too.
good news: its location in the middle of the jungle, friendly staff, very comfortable accommodation, nice short jungle track in the garden.
