Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomQuite far away from all the other places so you’re stuck eating the food served here, although nice, it is very plain. Lots of bugs get into the rooms but they do provide nets over beds. 2 angry geese roam around and make quite alot of noise. They will hiss and chase you, and sit outside your room honking at 5am. Host offered us drinking water, but then charged us for them when we checked out. No other option for drinking water.
Rooms were lovely, pool was nice and clean. Amazing view of the night skies. Food on site was ok, standard Colombian food. Host arranged a tour for us through the deserts which was great.

CuraçaoIf it rains, this place is impossible to reach by tuktuks. We unfortunately had this problem, but the hostess kindly arranged some horses for us.
It was a peaceful place to stay at in the middle of the desert, so you can fully enjoy the tranquility of the environment.

SloveniaAfter the rain the only access is by foot or renting the horse or a buggy. Limited choice of food. We stayed for 2 nights and dinner was almost the same on both days. Host lady doesn't understand English and with our limited Spanish communication was very difficult. No network connection (SIM from Movistar), WiFI slow.
very peaceful location, cute chalets

United KingdomThe location is far from the main road which meant relying on the very overpriced tuk tuks to see the sights. The price is high for colombia. The shower was a trickle of water so it was very difficult to get clean after a hike in the desert.
The site was beautiful: right in the desert. Mirella kept the place spotlessly clean and served good food and beer. The bed was comfortable and there was a fan in the room which was very welcome in the heat. The pool is lovely.

ItalyThe shower was not working properly, was almost impossible to have a shower with such a small amount of water, but we are in the desert so do not expect all the facilities. The location was a little bit too far, if you don't have a car and you're walking it takes more than half an hour to get to the main road.
Nice and clean room, the dinner was perfect and the lady was very kind with all our requests.

United Kingdomwe felt the prices for drinks and food on site were very expensive for Colombia, especially the wine. to be fair we did not check the price of a bottle before ordering, so we carry the blame. if we had known how much was being charged we would not have ordered wine. we would recommend taking supplies as location is very isolated with no shops nearby.
we loved the pool, the stars and the rural location created a nice space to relax and feel the atmosphere of the desert. it is close to observatory, red and grey deserts. we were lucky because weather was good so the road to property was dry but it could be tricky to drive in wet weather. cabins were very rustic and luckily they have mosquito nets over beds. there were three young men working on site who were very friendly and always there to help with anything.

United KingdomA lovely place to stay to visit Tatacoa - the room was incredibly clean and comfortable, the area was peaceful and the breakfast was great. We arrived mid-morning after an overnight bus and our host very kindly made us breakfast despite it being long after breakfast time! Plus there are cute dogs and lots of birds to keep you entertained!

ColombiaA little bit remote from the main way. (that is a pro to see the sky)
I think there are many hotels around but summarizing all the pros and cons, Payande has really good advantages, quiet and clean cabins, although the hotel does not have traditional electricity, they have solar energy that works perfectly, private restroom and delicious food (breakfast and dinner), you feel secure all the time even you can walk the desert in the middle of the night. Furthermore, Payande has a neighboring hotel where you can use their facilities. an overall excellent hotel

IrelandAbsolutely fantastic property but you need to have the right expectations. The water and electricity are scarce. The accomodation is rustic and has open holes close to the roof so creepy crawlies can be encountered and obviously sound proofing is not the best. But the location is incredible, very close to the "red zone" of Tatacoa and the observatories. Our cottages were spotless and the hotel is well maintained and secure. The food was delicious and we enjoyed hanging out in the open restaurant having a few beers at night. The value for money was excellent and we would definitely visit again.

United StatesThe host was annoyed at us the moment we arrived and responded begrudgingly whenever we asked for something. We had to park a kilometer away from the hotel because the road was impassable. The pool is shutdown because it needs repairs but on the plus side we were given a pass for the nearby hotel's pool and absolutely loved the neighboring hotel, staff there was wonderful. Quite the contrast!
The rooms were clean and the breakfast was okay. Located in the center of the park.

United KingdomBad value for money compared to other properties. I paid nearly £65 for two nights which included breakfast and dinner. Dinners were very basic menu del dia style food and breakfast was ok. Definite language barrier between host and i, however was never clear on what to do in the desert, little help with itinerary or getting taxis into dssert or knowledge of prices etc. Bedroom has many open air holes which are good for ventilation but awful for bugs, constantly itching. Three very badly trained puppies on property constantly chase and make you feel uneasy walking around. No pool either compared to many others in area with pool.
Family Run and located in the desert near observatory
