I've never stayed at another place like this. The beach is incredible and the fact that it is more remote means that there's much less people here than in other parts of Tayrona. I definitely recommend spending at least one night here - you won't regret it. It's worth the hike.

What a beautiful place to stay at the beach. It is a bit of a walk (ca. 3 hrs from Calabazo entrance) but nothing too difficult. And the walk is definitely worth it.

a remote place you need to hike few hours in and out, which makes everything more expensive, but you pay for this beautiful location to be near the beach with only few more people around you. do not expect luxury - it's pretty basic in the nature. the waterfall close to the place is great!

That you had to wire a deposit at an additional $25 prior to staying. Some how I missed that in the booking.

The staff and property is very peaceful after a long hike in.

Everything was great. The tent is spacious and clean and very comfortable. The beach is beautiful (but not good for swimming) and you have your own bathroom, porch with chairs and two beach chairs and sun umbrella only for you at the beach. Towels and soap are also provided. The staff is very friendly and the meals are great.

The fan in the room hadn’t been cleaned for what looked like a long time. luckily I didn’t need to use it as the aircon worked great.

The hotel is beautiful. Situated on the edge of the river it is picturesque and peaceful. the pools with all the different Jets around made it fun and even more relaxing. the food was excellent! the best I’ve had in Colombia thus far. The best of all was the staff. they went above and beyond to accommodate my every need. they got my laundry done in record time , and even spoke some English. a special mention to Caesar who was super helpful and kind. oh and hot shower as well as a super massage which was very well priced.

Requires 1st night prepayment through PayPal or bank transfer. That is inconvenient and creases the cost.

Close to nature and very comfortable stay in a tent: as they say in Columbia, glamorous camping ("glamping") The hike to and from the hotel could be strenuous: 300 m up, 500m (altitude change) down to the sea level, that makes it an even more interesting experience. Bring as much drinking water as you could: we took 8 liters for 2 adults for 3 nights stay and survived. You could buy it in the hotel too.

Incredibly tranquil night on the beach, well deserved after the hike in!

Only such a pity that the beach isn't swimmable - there were a few people occasionally tempting it and got slammed! Can wade in it but incredibly strong undertow!

Absolutely loved the experience of staying at Playa Brava - well worth the effort of the hike in! We did the walk from El Zaino to Playa Brava (took 5.5 hours incl time to swim at Cabo San Juan on the way) and then exited via Calabazo the next day - certainly recommend doing it in this direction. Both ways it is quite a steep hike but well worth it! We found that AllTrails was a really good app to see the trail map/elevation etc. which you can download and follow with GPS. Pack lightly and take plenty of water - food and drinks available at Playa Brava but at an expectedly high cost. Much more tranquil than the masses of people at San Juan. Recommend the bungalows if you can afford it - huge room with view of the beach, private hammocks underneath your bungalow and deck chairs to take to the beach, whereas the hammocks are all in one hut together. You also get access to your own private bathroom (short walk from bungalow) whereas the hammocks share 3 bathrooms between 20-30 people.

The resort depends on sunlight to recharge the batteries, so wifi is a bit spotty, but understandable. Windy, but much of Colombia is windy especially in February. However, wind means fewer bugs. The surf is strong here so swimming is not happening. Wading up to your waist is fine.

The location was enjoyably remote, we rode in and out on horseback..... a highlight of our 3 week stay to Colombia. We are in our 70's. Accommodation in a unique shack on the beachfront....very few neighbours. Beach chairs were included. The meals were fine, especially when you realize that all supplies have to come in on horseback. The long time owners (with a remarkable history) spoke English which really helped in planning our three day stay. One would think that prices would be high in such a remote place..... not so. Meals and beer/wine were comparable to 'in-town' prices. This resort is the only place to stay. No crowds like in Cabo San Juan. For more price-conscious travellers, there are lots of hammocks for overnight stay. So, in total, there are three cabins for couples, one permanent tent with deck, and three family style cabins. A small resort but worth the visit.

it’s a bit windy all day long, the night in the hammocks can be chilly - bring a sweater!

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The area is very well kept and clean! Away from the herd of tourists of Cabo de Juan. Beautiful waterfall and river close by. During the walk we saw some snakes, an iguana and two species of monkeys

It’s too bad the tap water isn’t drinkable. Bottled water is affordable at the shop, but it feels wrong to use disposable plastics when staying at a place that’s trying to have a minimal ecological footprint. I realize that having tap water that foreign travelers can drink would be a huge undertaking at such a remote location, so I realize this isn’t realistic. I would also say that all the travel blogs I read don’t convey how difficult the hike in and out is. This is not an easy hike if you aren’t a frequent hiker! It was worth it, but we really weren’t prepared for how steep the whole thing was.

It’s of course at a gorgeous and secluded beach. There aren’t too many other people there, so it’s relaxed. Our bungalow was very comfortable. It’s nice to stay in a simple and handsome wood structure. The mosquito nets worked well. Our private bathroom was simple, but clean. I’ve never before been somewhere that’s a mix between eco-camping and luxury. It was really nice. It’s amazing that they can run the facility in such a remote location.
