The plastic and cigarette butts on the beach were saddening.

Amazing place to stay in a tranquil environment next to a stunning beach. Truly a paradise location with very friendly and helpful staff and a connection with nature, a great place to disconnect. Delicious food as well and I really enjoyed my furry friends!

The location is incredible, the beach is so quiet and relaxing. The staff could not do more to help, and the food was lovely! The room was a great size and the property is very spaced out.

I am just pointing out these to help the property improve, but they didn't bother me a lot. The safe was locked and out of use. Nevertheless, I felt very safe. There were cameras, for example. The bottles with shampoo and soap were not labeled anymore, and the fridge looked a little old.

The general manager is very nice and helpful but so is all the staff. The location is very, very calm because it is farther away from the nightlife in town. Despite it being farther away, it is just a nice stroll away from the town that you take on the very safe beach, both day and night. I liked the food, my room (garden view) and its view. I saw many birds, and there was a cat on my porch all day long, which I loved as a solo traveler. I took many walks to either side of the beach, and the views were stunning. It is a well-kept green and garden-like place.

Relaxing, very good food and nice staff. However, do not come here and expect perfection. There are some parts that are worn down and does not work perfectly, but it does not matter because the place provides a nice feeling and friendly atmosphere😊

Everything was great - there was usually someone around to assist if you needed food/drinks, but not like at a big resort, which was fine by us!

The location is the best! If you want to escape the hustle of the big cities, visit Palomino and stay at Playa Mandala. This hotel is outside the city limits if you come from Santa Marta. We stayed in one of the bungalows with a sea/garden view. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the A/C was great. The patio was shady for most of the day, so we would chill there in the hammock or take a short walk down to the beach. It was nice to have the outdoor shower to wash off our feet after playing in the sand. Our booking included breakfast, a bit different each day but had limited options (fruits, juice, eggs, arepas, or toast). The beef empanadas and tropical salad are fantastic and made a delicious lunch. We also had the carbonara for dinner several times, which was filling and tasty. It is an easy walk to the main bars and restaurants down the beach, but Playa Mandala doesn't get any of the noise from the music. So tranquil! If we revisit Palomino, we will stay at this hidden gem again.

In front of the beach, in a quiet area of palomino but walking distance from the Main Street with all the restaurants and bars. The room was really comfortable, with a beautiful open shower. Extra points for the staff

The WIFI is the only thing that could be improved. I know that is probably hard to do there. I would have stayed there for another week if I knew I could work!

Playa Mandala is an oasis of a stay right on the beach perfect for your relaxing holiday! The staff is so welcoming and helpful, and the food is freshly and absolutely delicious! There is plenty of privacy for those wanting a more exclusive feel, and just a short walk down the beach or into town if you're looking to grab a drink or get some local food. The views from the hostel really provide a tropical paradise feel and you'll find yourself never wanting to leave!

There was nothing to complain about. If I was to be critical I need a desk in the room so that I can work and stay longer.

Amazing. This place was exactly what I needed to recharge my energy. It is tranquil set right on the beach. They cook great meals and reasonable prices and the accommodation is just beautiful. You do not need to go into town just rest. You wake up early in the morning have a swim and then return to your cabana for a nice shower. Air conditioned cabanas!! I have no complaints. My dog also loved it.

The restaurant could have been open a little later (closes around 9) or at least had snacks in the mini bar but not gonna complain a whole lot about that as it was pretty standard for the restaurants on that side of the beach. Wi-Fi could have been a little stronger but was still able to access fairly easily.

The Spanish word “tranquilla” sums this place up perfectly! Very low key towards the end of the beach, amazing water and beach front set up, quiet at night, easy 5 minute walk on the very safe at night beach to the party zone and just a place of true relaxation and bliss. The staff!! Oh the staff! Fransisco is AMAZING, very knowledgeable and will arrange just about anything you could want or need. The ladies working the property with him are very attentive as well and very friendly/welcoming. I do warn you gringos that you need to know a little Spanish when staying here as Franscico was the only person I encountered that spoke any English but hey you are in Colombia so get that iPhone or android out and use translator if you need to haha!

If I had to pick something I would say it is a bit harder to access when you arrive with luggage. We tried to walk to the hotel when we arrived, but we would recommend taking a tuk tuk if you’re carrying luggage.

We loved this place for its quiteness outside of the touristic area of Palomino. Wonderful beach that shows Palomino beach without tourism. Center with bars and restaurants is just a short and nice walk over the beach, but we would recommend eating at the hotel at least once. Food was great!

We had a wonderful stay at Playa Mandala, the property is beautiful and perfect for relaxing. The bungalows are very comfortable and the one in front of the beach is great. The service and the food were excellent too.

Wi-Fi was not available in our room but I enjoyed that as I managed to disconnect from the everyday hustle which was my goal. Water is only fresh (no hot option) which is not a problem as it is hot outside, also this is normal for the region.

This is a magical place, what you see on the pictures and more. If you are looking for peace and nature, search no more. And still if you want to have some nightlife it is just a nice walk through the beach to get there. Breakfast is great, beach is just on another level and the host will help you with anything.Food at the restaurant is homemade and just delicious, you do not need to go to the other restaurants around as the hotel one is just the best.
