How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The sheets were stained and dirty, the same for the towels.
Very nice room with everything I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was fast and the location was close to good places.

We chose this Hotel for proximity to the Malecon prior to moving to another hotel to join an organised tour. It served our needs very well.

The rooms are way too small. I am assuming my stay was so expensive due to Carnaval because the room is definitely not worth what I paid for.
Customer service was amazing 👏, front desk, security, everyone was nice, professional ,and friendly.

Taxi company 'Bessones Turismo Colombia'' recommended by hotel were unreliable. Paid for a trip to Santa Marta after leaving hotel with transfer on both ends and the transfer didn't show up. Company did not reply to messages or offer a refund for this.

breakfast was basic
Staff was really nice, also the security guards are very nice and helped me with my luggage! Beds are big and comfortable, you also have warm water. good internet. the offer free bike rentals and the bikes are really good!

The area was not what I expected, the surroundings need a lot of cleaning. demand Garbage everywhere. Customer service on the part of the reception is very basic, it is not very friendly. El area no era lo que esperaba, los alrededores necesitan mucha limpieza. demanda Basura por todos lados. la atención de al cliente pot parte se la recepción muy básica, No es muy amable.
I like how close it was to the MALECON. Also the guards were more helpful than the receptionist. Me gusto el acceso al MALECÓN. los guardias fueron más amables que las recepcionistas.

The terrace they advertise is not there anymore, I went upstairs looking to enjoy the view and drink something and oh surprise, it’s closed. Super dirty it almost look abandoned. I went to the reception to ask and all they said was oops is closed due to maintenance and/or renovations, however it does not look like it. Also they said food until 8pm & room service included, yet I called at 7:40pm and they said it was closed already. I had to go out to get something to ear because again terrace closed, restaurant closed, such an inconvenient. I would like to be compensated.
The room was clean and cozzy.

The neighbours we very noisy and played extremely extremely loud music until late at night. It was so loud I couldn't get any sleep. It almost felt like they were in my room. This hotel is also off a busy street so I'd recommend asking for a room furthest from the street. I could also hear people outside my room so I would say it's not very sound proof. It was a bit outside of the main center but was just a short cab ride away. I don't think it was expensive so essentially you get what you pay for. The room was a bit small but was all I needed.
The staff were very friendly and attentive (especially the assistant). They tried to communicate in English which I appreciated.The facility was clean. The wifi worked well and the air conditioning was cold. The mini fridge was well stocked. They also offered room service from the reaturant downstairs. The bed was very comfy. It was close to the main malecon del rio which is like a pier and I'm sure would be a great location for carnaval.
