Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThe room was very hot during daytime (which is somehow expected, while being in the desert). The description of the rooms is a bit confusing. We had booked a private room but it seemed that we had a mixed dorm. However, the host gave us the right room.
The location is convenient. The red desert is in walking distance. The food was tasty and the prices very reasonable. The staff was very helpful and kind. They also offer transportation from and to Neiva for a very good price. There is not WIFI but there is 4G signal, not very strong but OK. The room was clean and had all the basics. Big BONUS: they offer free coffee (tinto) all day.

United Statesreally dirty and low tech, the lockers are a little risky looking, but if you’re the type to stay in a hammock you’d find it acceptable
close to the observatory so you don’t have to walk at night and walking distance to red desert

IndiaSo.. I mean it's the desert - for this price range things aren't the ritz. The room was a bit dirty, someone's old flip flops were left in there haha. I really think they should invest in a mosquito net, there are big chunks of the wall which are open and travel nets are never as good as a full bed one (they're not too expensive and it would really improve the stay! I'd pay a few quid more).
This place is very very cheap for the area. The area is fantastic, you can walk to all the locations you'd want to see (grey desert is a bit far and if it's hot get a tuktuk). The breakfast was literally the nicest included breakfast we have had in Colombia! The other food from the restaurant was really tasty too!

United KingdomThere aren't plug sockets in the room but there are some in the dining area
The owners were very friendly and accommodating: they gave us a private room when we booked a dorm as there was no one else there, helped with transportation out of the desert and cooked breakfast and dinner for us for a small additional cost.

GermanyNo power outlet in the room (which is to be expected around there).
Got a private room for the cheapest fare and was allowed to check-in very early (9 a.m.) and check-out very late (3 p.m.). Food reasonably priced (breakfast 10k, lunch & dinner 20k, water 4k). Room was clean and with running water 24/7. Transport back to town for 20k.

The location is really nice quite close by walk to trails in the Tatacoa desert. We got a nice small room with a king size bed. Everything was clean. The host was very nice. She made free coffee and agreed to leave our backpacks after checkout and when we finished the trail she gave us wonderful lemonade and taxi service to the city.

United KingdomNot the cleanest or most comfortable, but you pay for what you get I suppose. No power sockets in the dorm room. One of the staff members in particular was very moody and unhelpful, after having organised a price the day before for two motorbikes she decided to change it to double the price the following day, that after we'd walked miles to pick them up. Take your own toilet paper!
Location is right between the red and grey deserts and across the street from a nice astronomy spot. Very cheap. Very quiet and peaceful. The guy is super friendly and helpful.

FranceVery unpleasant staff, hardly say hello that the lady asks to pay immediately to take out my phone to see the price indicated on booking then adds 25% of the price on this calculator without giving an explanation, which ultimately makes a room more so affordable than that for the quality of service, close to zero. No drinking water sell bottles at excessive prices. Dirty room, cobweb, dust everywhere, uncomfortable bed, ask three times the price of the taxi taken the day before to return to the village. Tourists are taken for slot machines and the service and friendliness of the staff is really not there.
