Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe hostel is in a remote location, getting there and back is a challenge on your own schedule. The breakfast is pretty small and without much options.
The hostel is in the middle of coffee and banana farms which is wonderful. The dorm room is comfortable and spacious. The free coffee is excellent when made fresh. The infinity pool is a nice touch to chill and relax.

ColombiaFirst, you can't get there by car, and that's where everything starts great because it means you would not have any noise of the city, just the river and birds. The place is unique, beautiful with a modern design but keeping it in touch with nature, the staff was amazing, really kind, they picked us at the parking lot and guide us through the road, always helpful with any request. The room is perfectly clean and comfy, and the food is delicious!! We will sure come back. Thank you guys for the great experience!

ColombiaNothing! Everything was amazing.
The hospitality of the staff, they were super welcoming, always around making sure that we are doing ok. The view was epic, the location feels like it's in the middle of nowhere so you know you're not going to be bothered with others. (but don't worry the hostel will help arrange some transport or give very clear advice about how to arrive!) The community of the hostel itself is beautiful! The hostel itself is in amazing condition, it's evident a lot of work has gone into making it feel so homey :) There are free coffee tours each day at 11am - run in spanish, english, or french - depending on which is the majority for the group. Learnt a lot åbout the history of the hostel too! Such an interesting story. My friend joined to the Finca la Divisa tour that was recommended by the hostel , and she herself cannot recommend it enough! Easily walkable from the hostel are short treks to the river. Beautiful! The pool was amazing too.

New ZealandExceeded expectations - we were unsure about the remote location, but nothing was too big a problem for the hosts of Tukawa to ensure we had an unforgettable experience here in this beautiful spot. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom - the bed was super comfortable and room was perfect, bathroom facilities clean with hot water and great pressure. Food prepared by onsite chefs (and also the lunch at the locals priest’s house which is a must-do!!) was exceptional , our best in Colombia. Matthew’s coffee tour is great and well worth doing to learn about the Tukawa story. Matthew and his team are super friendly and willing to help with anything you need. We really appreciate the service arranging a private tour to cócora valley, and also direct transport to the airport with our super friendly driver/guide. Everything was great value, and we’re so pleased to end out time in Colombia here .

NetherlandsThe only thing I didn't enjoy too much was the fact that there was rather loud music playing in the bar until quite late and that's very audible in the room. Guess this is only a problem for those who go there to relax and less for the party people :)
Amazing views, cozy chilling facilities, restaurant on premise and an amazing staff who's super helpful and goes the extra mile to make you comfortable

SwitzerlandShared bathrooms not very clean. Noisy if you don't like the party. Internet ok, but not fast enough to work. Keep in mind that the hostel is quite far away from the next village. Also, you cannot use the kitchen so not really a hostel in the classic sense. You will be very depending on them regarding food and drinks.
Location is just stunning and the stuff is very nice. Lots of French people tho as the owner is Parisian. Definitely worth the visit if you want to switch-off for some days.

RomaniaA lot of the people coming there are French and they speak in French. As a solo traveler who doesn't speak French can be a bit difficult to connect. Anyway the owners speak also English and Spanish and will do the best to integrate you.
The location is amazing, they have also two friendly dogs there as well as a nice pool. The owners are super nice and friendly, they help you with everything you need. Food is good and the general atmosphere great. I had a lovely time at Tukawa.

ItalyAwesome hostel located in an amazing position right in the middle of the coffee plantations, the landscape is just so beautiful! A little isolated and hard to reach but this makes it so special and unique, besides the owners really help you out by sending drivers and arranging pick ups. LuxembourgHave you traveled but felt like you found home? Well that’s Tukawa. A really special place that makes you feel like you never want to leave. Incredible people and a truly beautiful place that has it all, beautiful calm spots, social board game nights, lots of things to do around (you don’t even have to search for it, Camille and Dimitri will give you the best tips), great food and above all the best vibe. IndiaThere is nothing which can go wrong about this place, a total paradise in the middle of coffee/plantain farms. This is by far the best hostel I have been to, in Colombia why ? 1. The staff will make you feel more than homely 2. The place is as close to nature as something can get. 3. They grow their own food, and cook with love which tastes amazing. #sustainability 4. They have this extremely beautiful swimming pool with a stunning view plus a small trek of just 5 mins which takes you to beautiful water stream. 5. Every corner of the hostel is maintained clean and with utmost love. WE HAVE TO GO BACK SOON.

SwitzerlandThe Road to Tukawa Hostel is not for every kind of Tourist, you have to like this kind of "Adventure" The weather didn't help to enjoy everything, but it's not the fault of anybody at all.
The Staff all is very frendly and helpful, but my special thanks go to Mathieu, I feel i won a friend, he helped us in every possible way. So for me , he will be a friend forever and hope to have the chance to visit him again in the future. It was a pleasure to meet you.

BelgiumI would have liked lockers in the dorm, and the breakfast was a bit small for me! Also I found it a bit weird that we couldnt access the kitchen at all. I understand that given the remote location guests have to purchase meals there, but it would be nice to at least be able to serve yourself a glass of water or so :)
The staff is amazing, cares so much about guests! They come proactively asking if you want to do activities, organize them and even match you with other guests if you are alone! The view and the pool are just incredible! The food was very good and decently priced! The price overall was more than fair and you get much for your money! Hot water in the shower and everything was super clean

South KoreaIt is a party hostal, which wasn't I was looking for. I thought given its remote location, it would have a calmer ambience, but it was a party vibe with a lot of french people. The owner had a fight with the chef in front of the clients, which was strange.
The pool with the view was great. The staff was very friendly

New ZealandI hope the owners take this feedback to improve minor things with their staff: If a dining table is reserved for another guest, please allocate a 'reserved' sign over the table: It felt uncomfortable the way the staff asked us to stand up because the spot we choose to sit down for dinner was the favourite spot for another guest, so we had to move. Then we realized the dinner area was for smokers as well, so maybe allocating a couple of signs or explaining to the guests about people being able to smoke in the main dinner/bar area will be great. It felt a bit difficult to find a spot for non-smokers during dinner time. Also, the way the place is advertised is: perfect for being far away from the city noise, in the middle of the mountains, Enjoying Colombian landscapes, very far from everything etc. I chose a quiet room to relax and enjoy nature with my dad, however, it was a bit difficult due to loud music until late at night. It felt a bit of a party vibe late at night on a Tuesday in the middle of the mountains where you are looking for some peaceful time. Lastly, a quick one: In the main rooms please allocate at least 2 pillows per person or maybe a pair of cushions. I hope you take this feedback with a positive/improvement approach. Thank you
Nice swimming pool, clean facilities, delicious food and the owners are very friendly. I love the fact you can enjoy the pool and downhill you can enjoy a natural river. European vibe in the middle of the Colombian landscape.
