How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Super location at the start of the Puente del Humilladero. The staff were fantastic and agreed to keep our backpacks for several hours after we checked out, which we highly appreciated. The room was comfortable, nice beds and a good shower. We missed breakfast as it finished before the scheduled time.

We were not told that the balcony was being painted on the outside at the time. It smelled like fresh paint inside the room for the whole stay. A headsup would have being just fine.
The balcony was a gem! The hot water felt nice in the cold weather. The location is convenient.

Would not wander too far to the right of the hotel as like most places in Colombia, after dark, the atmosphere changes! No lift- on the 4th floor!
Right on the edge of town next to Humiliation Bridge so perfect to get to the old town. Breakfast to take out available if you've your own Tupperware (I did). Polite and helpful staff- called taxi, at 3am, greeted were waiting by the door when I got my taxi. As it was Good Friday, I felt the prices for the room was very good. They didn't seem to vastly increase them like other places. Allowed me to store my large bag downstairs since there was no lift. Comfortable bed- not luxurious settings but it was clean and had what you needed.

- Our bus from Ipiales to Popayan was 7 hours too late, so we could not check in before 10 pm but they didn’t answer to our messages, a guy in the bus had to call and text them on their number and ask if they could keep our room free because they wanted to cancel it. - Location in the evening seems not very safe - Staff is friendly but it was clear that we don’t understand much Spanish and they just kept asking & telling us things in fast Spanish, would be nice if they just use google translate or do an effort to communicate in another way so we can understand them.

During the night outside the hotel can be relatively sketchy especially if walking on your own (Take an Uber, Didi or taxi).
Very good value hotel just across the bridge from the old town of Popayan. Room is spacious and the shower is good especially considering the price point of the hotel.

Hotel staff warned that area is dangerous at night - even the 10min walk to town! Ended up calling a taxi to get dinner and the second day, brought dinner back to the hotel in the afternoon. Hotel can be very noisy (depending on guests) because of bad soundproofing and because internal light wells carry sounds through all floors. Hotel has many good things going for it, but danger and noise are hard to overlook. Despite friendly staff and all, I will not be staying here again.
The hotel is right near the two old bridges and just a 10 minute walk to historic town center. Helpful staff. Clean, simple furnishings. Good shower.

I was able to hear everyone moving around Wifi was just working at the reception/lobby, Staff can be more friendly and give info about the spaces in the hotel.
The room was really good, enough space and a balcony. It was super clean. Secure indoor parking for my motorcycle with direct indoor access to the hotel. It’s totally worth to stay with this price.

Internet doesn't worked and we arrived, we ask for other room, cause our smell humid. Friendly staff put us in a new room with balcony an street vision.
This hotel was good for us. The location is ok if you are thinking go to Caldas Park or Popayan downtown, but at night is important You put attention when you comeback to hotel. Humilladero Bridge is an touristic attration and is close to hotel, but at night is alone and some homeless are around, however it has very good illumination. We didn't have problem with our visit. Hot water, refrigerator wit beer an sodas in desk, quiet, clean, good room.

Pillows but c’mon…
Particularly well located hotel with parking (which is amazing!). It’s a simple hotel, I liked the breakfast, the staff was always friendly and responsive. For the price it was absolutely everything I was looking for.
