Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The price, and location in Poblado next to an amazing breakfast/brunch place is great. The owner/manager sorted me a room when I had to leave my previous hostel because of the noise. This one is much quieter than other ones in Poblado. Also hammocks to relax in. Staff are super friendly as well.

SwitzerlandA bit far, the walk home uphill everyday was a bit taxing. And a little bit noisy
Common area really nice, staff really helpful, plenty of bathrooms, and a nice cafe right next door great for starting the day.

NetherlandsThe hostel is located in a safe neighbourhood, where there is lots to do in the evening. You get breakfast from Betty Bowls, which I really liked! A good start of the day. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I also have never seen such a clean hostel. They clean up everyday. Th location is a bit at the end of el poblado, which is nice because its a bit more quiet up there. Its only a bit further walk from the metro station, but totally worth it!

United StatesNice hostel, clean and everything works well. The hostel is on the smaller side, which is great for solo travellers looking to meet other people and make stronger bonds, but it doesn't have the party vibe if that's what you're looking for. Would stay again!

IrelandWe got a private room. It was ideal for what we needed but it is basic. Two beds, a bedside table and a light. The common area is truly the best thing about this hostel. Hammocks, a net you can chill on while the river flows underneath you. Excellent Wi-Fi too! Would highly recommend!

AustraliaNada!
The cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed in, super friendly staff (Miguel special shoutout), super tasty fresh and fruity breakfasts at Betty’s bowls upstairs, massive clean kitchen, clean showers and bathrooms, comfy beds, lots of chill out space with hammocks, other friendly travellers to chat with, so many tours on offer, really lush green courtyard, sound of the natural river drowns out the traffic and noise of Medellin, lots of restaurants in east walking distance, you’re in el poblado so lots of bars and shops to explore, easy walk or taxi to the metro station, oh and two friendly dogs to pet! Would highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Medellin!

United KingdomI was in a single room off the kitchen and every word spoken can be heard. I only expect two things from a place regardless of price. A comfy bed and a shower. The shower in this hostel is awful. A very slow drip at best. A tiny bit of work to sort this issue would have made my stay so much better.
For $10 a night it was clean and comfortable Bed was comfortable Staff were lovely. I felt safe in the area

AustraliaThe comfort of the dorm beds is minimum, they are metal basic bunk beds with no curtain or bed lamps. There are only few power points to share between all in the room and there are not all very conveniently located. I ended up not sleeping well at all in this hostel as the walls are thin and you are constantly disturb by people going in and out of the rooms at late hours, using their phone lamp (as there are no bed lamps or curtains you can’t avoid being awaken)or by people chatting and drinking until after midnight in the garden. I think the staff should be responsible for turning off the lights outside and kindly remind to all the guests to respect the comfort of all by respecting peace and quiet after a certain time…
The location of the hostel is great, a bit away from the noise of Provenza (but still couple mins walk only) next to a little ‘river’. The backyard is really cute and relaxing during the day with the noise of the nearby river, the plants, plenty of chairs, tables, hammocks… The wifi works well, there is always hot water and the staff is always happy to answer any question. The place is safe and kept closed with an electric gate opened manually by staff to guests of the hostel only.

GermanyThis was the best hostel experience I’ve ever had in a big city. We felt at home right away - thanks to the coziness of the hostel with its great location but even more chill backyard that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city. But most thanks go to the awesome staff, especially Jimena for welcoming us and helping us out with any question we had. And the transformation tour organized bY the hostel and guided by Ricky was just perfect.

NetherlandsWe had a private room at the river side. The river gives ALOT of noise. We had no problem sleeping with the noise but i can imagine some people will find this extremely irritating.

United StatesWonderful place. Great location next to a river in the hills of Poblado. 24 hour front gate and reception. Quiet location yet 3 blocks walk to Provenza dining and party district and 4 more blocks to Parque Illeras wild party area. 20 minute walk downhill to Poblado Metro station (or $2.50 for taxi; you will want to take the taxi back uphill upon return). Melissa at the front desk is welcoming and very helpful, as is the owner ( who helped us plan our daily trips) Great fruit, yoghurt, granola bowl breakfast is included, at the very popular restaurant in front of hostel. The river next door creates a relaxing soundtrack for great sleep at night or a nap in the hammocks. Common areas were all very clean ( day and night). Beds were comfortable, showers were hot, wifi was strong. Excellent value . From the airport, take a bus to San Diego Mall for $3.00, then a taxi to Selena Hostel in Poblado ( next door, but known by all taxi drivers) for $4.00 This is a really great place. I'll be back

United KingdomI actually can’t think of anything :)
Chilled, homey atmosphere, the team are all really friendly and helpful. Great kitchen facilities, free coffee, the showers have good pressure and are warm. Space to do yoga in the common areas and even a matt to use. Cute garden area where you can eat brekky. The hostel is actually way more spacious than I anticipated. We actually ended up staying over a week, was a great place to settle with restaurants and shops near by. I personally waaaay preferred this hostel to any of the bigger more ‘popular’ named hostels we have stayed in during our Colombian travels. There’s a place to do laundry a 5 min walk down the road (just ask reception) and also an internet cafe 5 mins away if you are sick of planning travels on a phone screen !! On New Year’s Eve the owners mum cooked the hostel a free meal which was really kind. 100% recommend staying here, really hope we come back. Thanks so much, Emma and Jack xx
