Positive section of review
The hotel is set away from the more tourist places in an oasis of calm - if that is possible in the jungle. Rooms were very spacious and well designed, set in luscious grounds full of wildlife. The team were very friendly and the service was probably the best we found in all of Costa Rica. I would recommend anyone to stay if they want a more relaxed, authentic stay in this beautiful country

This very nice lodge sits at a very convenient but also beautiful location en route to Tortuguero from San Jose. The large rooms have a lovely balcony with a very nice view over the grounds and valley. Even though we arrived late, a lovely meal was prepared for us and put in the room for us to enjoy after a very long trip. Breakfast was amazing but the true stars are the owners/ staff

Amazing location right on the river (the ferry even drops you off and picks you up on the deck). Nice and helpful staff that help organise great tours through the national park. Luiz was amazing. A very knowledgable local guide that took us on a lovely boat trip through the canals and wildlife. Breakfast was nice and plentiful and served right when returning from the tours.

Amazing hotel located on a secluded stretch of beach, in close proximity to restaurants, attractions and Puerto Viejo town. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Property is immaculate. Nice beach bar set up, serving tasty lunch options. Would throughly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast!

Brilliant space, everything you needed in the kitchen so could self cater. Location was brilliant, easy to access La Fortuna just a short walk away. Lots of cafes etc nearby. The host was super helpful especially when my husband was unwell and supported us in finding/ communicating with the local medical centre.

The location is excellent. Close to everything. It's great value for money with a coffee machine and fridge in your room. Shared spaces to eat and relax and a communal kitchen to use. Support local families and choose Aurora.

It was in a good location, very close to town. Was one of the cheapest hostels in Tamarindo. Rooms were decorated nicely.

The bathroom in the room obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a long time- there was piles of sand on the shower floor and dirt all around the sink. The water also dribbled very slowly out of the shower head which you had to hold up. The air con in the room was leaking water so the whole bedroom floor was a puddle. Had two guest sleeping in the same bunk bed right above me. There was nobody at reception most of the time.
