Nothing, it was a disgusting place to stay, they stole from us when we weren't in the room! Then they just ignored us and said they didn't steal anything. Read the bad review part for more details. They are gated, have 24/7 security, so only authorised people can get in. No one else was staying at the hotel apart from us. Horrible place to stay and scary. Imagine trusting people and they steal your things!! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The place stole from us when we weren't in the room! I 100% would not stay here and would not recommend anyone to stay here either unless you want them to steal from you too. My partner and I had a few items stolen from us on the last night we stayed. We were having a nice evening out and they must have all come into our room stole things from us. They didn't just take whatever they could see, there were things like small items and bags with various things inside other packaging and they had opened it ALL and looked at every little bit and taken things. We got back late and didn't notice anything as we only had things out that we were using, the rest was in our backpack, therefore we never checked anything we didn't take out. The next morning, the host was really weird with us, she wouldn't look us in the eye, didn't offer us coffee (which she did every day before), she kept avoiding us and even when we left, didn't even come and say bye. This was weird because through out the rest of the stay, she would be very chatty. No other staff was to be seen either, so it was all a bit weird but we didn't take any notice of it because we were leaving. The thing that makes this even more worrying is that the road leading to the hotel has a barrier so only authorised people can get through. Furthermore, the whole hotel is gated so you can only get in if you have a key. Even more so, they have a guard 24/7 there, so no random person can get in. On top of all that, they have CCTV everywhere and a big screen where they watch the CCTV. This shows that the only people that can go into our room are the staff. If you think this is bad, then read on. When we got to our next accommodation, we realised things were missing, so we messaged the hotel on booking.com. They didn't reply, so I messaged them again the next day and guess what? They didn't reply again.

Casa Única - Room with breakfast or Cabins with kitchen

Positive section of review
This was one of the best rental experiences we've ever had. The property was absolutely stunning and close to the magical Laguna de Apoyo. The casita was clean and comfortable, and the management was attentive and kind. The only problem was I wish we could have stayed for more than one night. I highly recommend this location and look forward to returning in the future.

The room and bathroom were very clean, and quite spacious. It actually wasn’t too hot at night with the fan, which is something we were a little worried about. Nice to have breakfast which we were able to have early one day before the morning volcano boarding tour. The staff were helpful and friendly. Kitchen you can use from late morning onwards.

Hostel Santa Cruz Ometepe

The location in the centre of the island is good to be able to explore. Having a restaurant onsite makes it convenient for meals, especially breakfast. They had free filtered water which was a plus and didn’t cause us any issues. The owner is a really nice guy and was super helpful. There are nice views of the volcanoes.

It’s overpriced for what you get, like all of Ometepe. Couldn’t tell if the bathroom was clean or not.

Boutique Hotel Maharaja

The hotel is great if you want a nice, quiet and affordable stay on Granada. Mr Gupta and his wife were incredibly nice and helpful. We had use of the kitchen (which use to serve the restaurant Mr Gupta use to run alongside the hotel) and having a pool was great to cool off. Room was clean and comfortable.

Wish you didn’t have to pay extra for the air con as Granada is very hot! But this is pretty typical for Nicaragua we found, and didn’t ruin our stay to not use it. We were actually given an extra fan without asking which was really nice

Its good to have a room with AC in Nicaragua. The location was fine, close to markets. Staff( the owners) are good and helpful. Breakfast was sufficent.
