    Lamai, Thailand

    Average review score: 9

Extremely comfortable peaceful hotel away from the hussle and bustle of Koh Samui. Excellent staff, very comfortable room (we had a poolside suite), lovely bathroom with bath tub, shower and twin basins, nice main pool and good restaurant with a wide variety of food and reasonably priced options. Sunbeds always available as overflow area if the beds by the pool are taken. Also had a massage in the spa which was excellent, if a little pricey. Would return if in the area.

Whilst on the sea, the sea in front of the hotel isn't swimmable as extremely shallow. Wasn't a problem for us as the pool was lovely and it was also very nice looking out to sea. I suspect if you walked down the beach there would be deeper water and good swimming, but didn't try.

  • Al's Resort

    Chaweng, Thailand

    Average review score: 7.8
    • Positive section of review

The place is greatly located in Chaweng, nearby nightlife while being quiet enough. I stayed in a Deluxe garden room for a week and loved it. The swimming pool with direct beach access is just gold ! Nice and friendly personnel from room cleaning ladies to bar/pool, they're here to assist you and make you feel confortable. There are surely more luxury resorts along Chaweng but I would come back 100% to Al's resort when I'll get back to Samui.

Nothing much. Bathroom is a bit rustic but aligned with the price of the resort, nothing to complain about.

It was my first trip to Bangkok, and I was so satisfied with the services:) Every morning, I could choose coffee, main meal, and pantry from the list, and everything was served nicely. Besides, they even gave me a bottle of water for free of charge. The owner is so friendly and hospitable. If you wonder where to stay in Bangkok, this is my recommendation. Very close to the BTS station, near the city center, and totally worth the price.

The airco is very good with temperatures around 40 outside. The room is spacious. The beds are comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially when I needed help with an injury. The location simply can't be better, about 200 meters from Asoke BTS station and no noises from outside.

The light switches are confusing. The view is a blind wall but I didn't care that much. The bathroom and toilet have a strange design. It goes down first and then up. I slipped in the bathroom but got good help from frontdesk. Taxis without digital directions like Maps may have difficulty finding the location.

  • Jomkitti Boutique Hotel

    Chiang Mai, Thailand

    Average review score: 8.8
    • Positive section of review

The room is quite spacious and clean. All the staff are warm-hearted and supportive. They gave us helpful traveling information about restaurants, street food, local markets, massage places, etc. They have the best kind of service.

The location was not as good as I thought. In terms of convenience, it is pretty good- in the center of the old city, just a few minutes walk from the famous temples. However, the hotel is opposite a primary school, and they play thunderous music from day to night. If you are looking for a place of quiet and calm. It is not your first choice.

Breakfast - crowded restaurant, with sub-continent guests pushing for access and not using utensils to handle bread and fruits. Bare hands seemed disgusting. We ate on first morning there, but elsewhere from then on.
