The website advertised hiking. We had an amazing hiking tour, but I though there would be more hiking trails at the resort.

Although there are multiple choices of food at Rio Bongo, the food was not the best. On the other restaurants the food was fine and delicious

The location inside the tropical forest, animal watching, the beaches were beautiful, specially Nacascolo. The activities offered were very entertaining , the staff was very nice .The property is beautiful and the golf cart service was very usefull, also the shuttle service inside Peninsula Papagayo

EVERYTHING!! This hotel is an absolute gem! You feel special there from the moment you drive up to the entrance and are greeted by name till the last second of checking out. My daughter stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 2 months before our visit. When we walked into the lobby the young gentleman Jerson at the front desk immediately recognized her and her son. Not only did he remember them visually - he remembered various details about them! A similar thing happened when we went to the restaurant - the staff there remembered her and her kid! By day 2 of staying there it seemed like every staff member there knew our name and room number, knew what kind of coffee we like for breakfast, and what kind of smoothie our kid prefers at lunch. When my grandson (who already stayed there two months prior) came to the kids club - all the girls there remembered his name and met him with open arms. He loved this kid's club so much - we couldn't get him out of there. It's been a month since we came back and he still keeps asking when we are going to go back there. Every woman in that kid's club is absolutely wonderful - I wish could mention all of them here. On top of that - the grounds, the rooms, the beach house, the restaurants, the views - everything is breathtaking! The service is top-notch. The beach is amazing! Jerson at the front desk, after learning that it was my 70th Birthday, arranged an upgrade for us for a reasonable price and we got one of the best rooms in the hotel! He made our stay super-special and memorable and we are immensely grateful! Monkeys visited us on the beach daily, and activities in the hotel abound - we went on a super-fun electric mountain bike tour around the peninsula. I couldn't imagine a better stay. Thank you, Andaz! We can't wait to be back!

The checkin process was a bit disorganized. Because they were busy at the time of our arrival, we were escorted from the gorgeous open air lobby to an enclosed conference room. I was immediately disappointed. A 5 star resort should have a process in place for managing peaks in guest arrivals.

The hotel’s location on Penisula Papagayo is spectacular.

Idyllic hotel nestled in the trees with a gorgeous eco-friendly design. The breakfast buffet was absolutely to die for. The entire staff were incredible. The beach and free activities were awesome.

Our stay at Andaz at Peninsula Papagayo was incredible, from the grounds & facilities to the wonderful people working there, everything was amazing. The beach club and other available amenities in the peninsula were also really good, being able to take advantage of all those was essential. The views are great and we loved how well the hotel integrates with nature and topography. Lot's of fauna around the hotel too! We hope to be able to go back very soon!

Service still needs some work. While most employees are falling over themselves to help you get a drink or take a golf cart like 50yrs across the property, when it is time to arrange something with the concierge or ask for anything that is slightly off program, you’ll be met with extremely long wait times or a very quick no. Their managerial level needs more hospitality training.

Property is incredibly beautiful and well designed. Food was tasty and most employees were kind.

We loved our stay as family of 5 with kids ages 17-7 in 2 rooms. You can make your stay as adventurous or as relaxing as you’d like. The beach wasn’t what my 13-yr-old had in mind as there are not waves to go surfing, but he loved riding the jet skis. Overall we loved our stay and loved the amazing staff/team especially the wait staff at the pool, beach house and restaurants and the golf cart drivers. We saw monkeys, iguanas and armadillos. We did an adventure park tour with zip lining, horseback riding, hot springs and a water slide to break up the week which everyone loved. We enjoyed the beach house if we weren’t at the pool and the boat ride over is fun. The views are beautiful although you don’t get colorful sunsets that take up the sky (at least we didn’t). The rooms were nice and clean and the food was very good. We stayed at the resort most of the time and opted for a relaxing vacation and we were not in a rush to return home!
