A couple of large tour groups staying there which sometimes took over the pool/bar.

Good location in La Fortuna, 2 mins walk to square. Booked onward transport to Monteverde through hostel. Nice welcome drink. Good AC.

We were told by the staff that you can’t get back from most of the hot spots (La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano Park, Hanging Bridges) by taxi so it’s best to book the super expensive tours that they sell (even though we said we were on a budget). We risked it and easily got taxis to and from the above places so don’t be fooled or pressured into getting tours (it’s a lot cheaper if you do it yourself)! The hostel itself was great & the staff were lovely but they did try to push us buying their tours which we weren’t interested in

Super comfy bed and fairly good value seeing as Costa Rica is an expensive country. The room was nice and spacious and got cleaned every day. It is also a good location right in the centre of La Fortuna.

We had a leaking air conditioner and the floor was flooded. Jenny moved us immediately after coming to have a look. We really did appreciate how quickly it was handled. We were moved to what was referred to as a superior room. Ancient tv, no hangers (not even hooks) to hang a towel on and the bathroom was half the size of our original room, very disappointing. Guessing it was superior because it had its own porch and was away from the pool bar in a separate area.

Great shared kitchen, fridges could use some help, one is out of order and some food was in there far too long. Pizza boxes for days 🙄. Pool was great, front desk staff awesome. This was our second visit here in the last few months. Tour assistance on the front desk is excellent.

Rooms were very basic, had to do some of our own exterminating :s but it is a hostel after all.

Relatively good value for money, right in town and everything you need nearby. Pool was nice, breakfast decent. The best part was how helpful Chris from Arenal Poshpackers was through whatsapp. He helped us immensely with bookings and transportation, even after we left La Fortuna. Make sure to get in touch!

Maybe some social activities would get the guests to mingle more - the place has certainly got the infrastructure in place to do this.

The location is perfect in the middle of town but still quiet enough that I was able to rest in between exploring La Fortuna and its activities. My room was clean, safe and quiet at a good value. The buffet breakfast is a great value at about $7 (just a cappuccino in this town elsewhere might set you back close to that). Staff was also friendly and helpful, and booked me on a tour which was the best value I could find in town. It's too bad there weren't more other guests staying there when I was there, because Arenal Poshpacker has invested in some great facilities including a nice pool with swim-up bar, a few hammocks in which to relax and plenty of other seating in which to relax or even get some work done.

No towels available at property during our stay to have a shower with. Room was clean but smelt very strong of stale cigarette smoke and strong cleaning products.

Great location. Typical backpackers type of stay. Very basic but meets needs. Lovely communal areas Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable, special mention to Jenni - excellent member of staff.

Our shower was warm one day out of three. The pillows I found very hard and there is empty space around the pool that could maybe have some sun loungers.

WiFi not great in deluxe rooms as further away from main signal. Noisy as restaurant above , but middle of town so can't expect it to be quiet.

They d’ ont have a big mirror for women to get ready, apparently it s a thing in the country 🤭 kitchen is small and doesnt seem very well equiped, but it was not a problem for me.

Location is perfect, a few steps from Main plaza. Room was confortable, good air-conditioner. Nice pool amd relaxing ( if only we had time for that 😅). Very helpfull and lovely staff, as It is in all Costa Rica

It's right in the middle of town if you don't have a car. Jenny was really good at helping you find tours and giving information, was not pushy either.

It was very noisy, loud music at night and in the morning, the construction company next door would start blasting music and shouting at each other from 7am) However, we understand this is generally part of a hostel experience- some people are there to party and meet people so we didn’t mind so much- if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs! The wifi did not work at all from our room. For a ‘deluxe’ room, it was very small and dated and the light was weak. The pillows were quite uncomfortable.

The hostel was well located in the centre of La Fortuna so you could reach everywhere on foot. It was easy to catch shuttles to different activities from there. The hostel was simple but comfortable with places to relax, including a pool to cool off in. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bathroom had a strange smell and the usage of the shower was not really easygoing. Parking situation is not the easiest, maybe it would help to let the people know where to park if the come by car. Just a simple description of the best for free parking spots would be lovely.

Super friendly stuff and easy to find location. We had a separate room with a non-shared bathroom. The breakfast was really tasty with fresh foods and juice. Also the pancakes were super yummy. The bed was comfortable. We really appreciated the stuff there. They were all super helpful and nice.

Very bad value for money, you can choose between no wifi connection or a shower with only cold water. Didn't use the pool once, didn't seem very appealing to me. Also doesn't seem like the most social place

There's no air conditioning in the rooms and the fans aren't the most effective so keep that in mind when booking if that is a priority for you.

The staff were friendly, warm, and informative. The location is great - close to many restaurants and easy to access the various tours available in the area. I was able to find free parking directly beside the hostel which was fantastic. The pool and bar area were lovely and the communal areas like the hammocks were great to sit and read.

When we arrived our deluxe room wasn’t cleaned, so we needed to downgrade to another room for the first night. No compensation was given for this. Also, we had booked breakfast for 3 mornings, but on one of the mornings there wasn’t any.

All facilities were good - deluxe room was spacious, great breakfast buffet, pool, relaxing areas and nice cocktails. The location is very convenient

We had two double rooms, they were pretty tight, as there was no wardrobe there was the right space for a backpack on the floor and no more.

The garden and the outside area are very nice, kitchen fully equipped, and always clean.

You are in CR so the room is not the NY Hilton. Everything worked but a little lower expectation (ie loose facet, on and off hot water delivery). Tour packages were pricey, and no partial refund or perks when cut short by poor weather. Oh well, still tipped the guides as they gave us their best efforts.

Great welcome from staff. Clean private room. On-site pool and bar. Great chill vibe and energy. AC worked great in private. Great location. Great breakfast for $7US. Free drink at bar upon arrival!
