There were only two things that bothered me: - the H for hot and C for cold for the shower was on the wrong way (leaving you waiting for hot water to come when it is the cold that is running) - the pool area turns into a bit or a nightclub at night, which is cool, but the music stays super loud sometimes well after 10 (I think up to around 11), which is not great if you have an early tour or have to leave early the next morning

I love this place! It’s very cabina, so don’t expect the Waldorf, but it’s comfortable, unpretentious and very cool. Lots of hammocks, a nice pool and right in the middle of town. The room I stayed in was very large and air conditioned.

The staff are great. Worked hard to accommodate my needs and got it all done. Pool area was great with a swim up bar, and warm water. Plenty of hammocks. The music by the pool was USA rock, and i found it intrusive, but as promised it stopped at 10pm. It is the only reason i couldn’t give a ten across the board.

Very noisy between 6pm-11pm. Am aware its a hostel with party vibes (and I work in the event/club industry so not a stranger to noise) but the volume was insanely loud with high tempo dance music, and its not a great sound system so really blares out and people in the pool then have to shout over the volume, so it is difficult to relax in the room and get to sleep after a long day out. Probably great fun if you are 20 and drunk, just be aware if travelling with kids or wanting any evening rest. Maybe i should have thought to ask the front desk for earplugs though.

Central. Very clean. The double room was spacious and the bed very large and comfortable. Shower had good pressure and hot water. Everything worked! Warm greeting on arrival and friendly helpful staff. The tours I had booked via front desk were great value and an excellent tour company Jungle Tours. Great base for a couple of nights. Very peaceful in the mornings.

Room are nothing exceptional or cute and just pretty basic. Would be nice to be able to hang clothes, which was one of the rules. Also with AC running, more linens other than a thin sheet would be nice.

There were some issues with the toilet in my first room, then I was moved to another room that didn't have hot water, but it got fixed quickly the next morning. The A/C was quite bad and really loud, but it was great in the first room. Overall it was alright and they reacted quickly when they could.

Staff was great, you can't have a more central location than that. Between 11h00 and 20h00 there was someone to help plan activities and shuttle, and they were really helpful. Bar closes at 22h00, after that it was pretty quiet.

The shared dorms are a bit uncomfortable as there’s no space to hang/put things, no hooks on the walls so in a six bed for example drying towels and bikinis became a bit of an issue.

I’ve had a great stay here, the social spaces are super nice and the staff is lovely!

During our stay, the TV at the hotel was non-operational. The thumping bass from the bar goes on until 10:30-11 each night. The hotel does not provide a blanket. Just a top sheet.

The location in downtown La Fortuna is very good— walking distance to everything in town. The pool with swim up bar and waterfall is a highlight of the property.

Only thing missing was something to hang and dry our clothes but we still had a great stay and would come back.

We had a nice room with a clean private bathroom. The staff was very helpful, the atmosphere was great and we enjoyed the heated pool with the bar. We slept very well in the comfortable beds and it was very quiet at night.

We only stayed for one night, but it seemed extremely quiet there. At most, there was 1 or 2 people in the bar/pool area. This could be great for some people, though!

The location was amazing-- right in town! Loved the large balcony overlooking the main road. Spacious. Huge shower. Comfy beds. Cute courtyard/pool. Nice employees. Kitschy and fun. Walkable to absolutely everything.

The location was great! I was in the all girls dorm and it was nice to not have bunks and have a private clean bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room for everyone's things.

Yeah, it's air conditioned, but with six people in a room you have to agree on a temperature. And there might be someone there who insists the temperature be set so high the air conditioner doesn't even run. So if you really want AC, maybe spring for the private room. All of the rooms have windows facing the courtyard, and when they start prepping and serving breakfast at 5:45 a.m., it will probably wake you up.

Excellent location with potentially a great view of the volcano if the clouds allow. Fantastic bakery next door with amazing food at great prices. Very close to the bus station. Nice pool, hammocks, and chairs to relax in. Includes a restaurant with affordable food. Nice atmosphere of travelers.

The walls were thin so there was some noise from the neighbours.

The room was huge with a comfortable queen size bed and air conditioning. The staff were friendly, and the hostel is right in the centre of town, close to the restaurants and bars.
