Nice and quiet family-owned place in a great location near a supermarket, bus stop and restaurants. It is a 5-10 minute bus ride away from the beach and national park. Very sweet and welcoming hosts. Lots of wildlife near the property; we saw scarlet macaws and white-faced capuchins from our window!

Not much really. Location is a bit of a walk to everywhere. Dark getting to room at night, as sensors don't always work. Otherwise, all good!

This is a brightly decorated place and my apartment was very spacious, with a separate bedroom and kitchen. There's a huge tree outside the window and I loved watching the monkeys jumping from it on the roof. Very friendly, helpful owner who went out of her way to help me with my travel plans.

The beds were comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned daily by the staff. The communal space was functional for the amount of people staying there. The staff were incredibly helpful with recommendations, tips and assisting with booking further travel. Absolutely amazing and was the cheapest place available when booking the day of.

It’s been a real pleasure to stay at Morpho House. Madelyn really knows how to run the place and make you feel at home. She’s extremely welcoming, smiley, helpful and efficient ! She helps every guest answering questions about the parks and the environment and goes out of her way to find a solution to every special request or booking tours. Her mother is also very very nice. The place is immaculately clean every day, the beds are comfortable and properly protected with mattress covers and sheets, which is rare in dorms. The kitchen and common areas are also very well equipped and spotless. I recommend it 100%. Thanks a lot :)

I had an amazing stay! The staff is super nice and helpfull. The room was spacious and the kitchen was good. It was clean as well. Location is good, close to supermarkets and restaurants. Would recommend!

The house is very nice and cozy, super clean with all the amenties you may need for a confortable stay. It's at a walking distance to the beach and there are supermarkets around to buy grocieries. The owner, Madelyn, is a special girl, kind and always available to help and make your stay pleasent. Thank you very much for everything, feel like home!

Excellent. Madeline made me feel so welcome. Gave me loads of great information. The room was big, clean and super comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice common area to chill and eat. Only 10 minutes walking from the shops/ restaurants. Including a great restaurant with a 3500 casado that was delicious and filling. Plus being a bit away from the main road meant I saw a toucan and howler monkeys while walking to the hostel.

The hostesses were so friendly and helpful. We got some of our dirty laundry done here for a very reasonable charge, which helped no end for the next leg of our trip. They recommended Biesanz Beach to us which was a marvellous experience - we saw as much wildlife there and on the walk to it as we had in the National Park! The WiFi was really strong, the sofa was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We certainly made use of the ceiling and standard fans because the weather was so hot and humid! It is within walking distance from a good supermarket, soda/restaurants (including a great pizza takeaway) and bus stops, which was really useful, because we were travelling around Costa Rica on public transport.

As a solo traveller, for me, it didn’t have much of a social vibe, it may have been the time of year I was staying there which isn’t the hotels fault just a thing to note maybe for other solo travellers.

Lovely and welcoming staff! Nothing is too much trouble and they’re happy to share any tips or recommendations of things to do. Clean and comfortable beds, nice bathrooms & use of the kitchen. Shops nearby just down the street which is handy.

The ladders to the top bunk were really painful on my feet. The location has steep uphill walking in both directions.

Nothing atall

We had a lovely stay here. Madelyn is so kind and helpful - she couldn't have done more for us - she helped us to buy tickets for the park and even booked our bus tickets back to San Jose. The room is spacious and has 2 fans which is great to cool down. The bathroom is cleaned everyday and clean towels given. We didn't use the kitchen much but there was plenty of room in the fridge to keep our water bottles and space to cook a meal. Great spot 😊
