The hotel was very near to the railway line. The trains although infrequent were a source of noise. The room was as described on booking dot com but we missed the fact the room did not have an aircon or a fan so not much airflow was possible on hot nights.

The staff were excellent Breakfast was exceptional. The location was in a neighborhood near many restaurants. Cost effective, value for money. The room was as described on booking dot com

The location was far from the airport and so not ideal for an overnight stay. We arrived late and had to leave very early the next morning in order to be on time for our domestic flight. I should have paid more attention to the hotel's location. And been aware how slow cross town traffic is in the morning.

The room and hotel space was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived late and hungry; the pizza restaurant across the street and down the road a bit was recommended and our pizzas were delicious.

Our room was a good size however the double bed mattress had a large dip in it which made it fairly uncomfortable night sleep. desperately needs replacing

we enjoyed our 2 nights at the hotel. the breakfast was typical of what to expect in Costa Rica and was tast. The coffee serves with breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful

The bathroom was clean but quite run down. The toilet was flushing with difficulty and the shower had exposed and wobbly tap pipes, that you had to carefully manouver with when turning on the water. A lot of things in Costa Rica feel overpriced (even in comparison to some European locations) -- and that accommodation felt like it too.

Staff was super nice and took really good care of me -- gave me takeaway breakfasts (fruits) when my shuttle bus arrived 20 minutes too early and I didn't have time to eat. The room was small, clean, but also more run-down than expected -- especially the bathroom. For a one or two-night stay it's okay.

No AC in the room! Also, there was a lot of noise this time from the train tracks but nothing that a pair of earplugs won't fix ;-)

Comfy room with a warm shower! We could park our rental car on the property and as before (this was our second stay in 1 week) the staff was very lovely and super helpful with everything! They gave us a perfect restaurant recommendation and made the reservation for us as well. Breakfast was tasty again. We recommend this hotel!

Water not hot enough the rest are find. Sound proof problem is every where in San Jose.

Here is like a heaven after I ran away in the middle of the night from the terrible traffic noisy homestay the language school arranged me to. 1.nice included breakfast. Amazing breakfast menu 2. Very friendly and careful night shift staff. 3. Cute hospitality cat 4. Great location except the crazy train in this area.

The hotel is a very old building with zero sound proofing - our room had a very thin window onto the main corridor (which was open to reception) and a glass vent in the bathroom also onto the corridor that didn't really close properly - as a result there doesn't feel like there's much privacy and we were disturbed a lot in the night

The beds were uncomfortable and the light in the bathroom of my room was not working. The hotel was under renovation and felt kind of empty. The breakfast was so and so. There was some miscommunication on check out since the girl at the desk didn’t speak English well

I really loved the location and the receptionist who was there when I arrived. We were offered initially a room with no windows and I asked if we could be upgraded and they said yes which was wonderful.

The conversion of the property into hotel rooms is a bit compromised. With very little (if any) sound proofing between rooms or floors. (Its proximity to the train track was taken into account when booking), but the noise of other guests just going about their normal business was very intrusive. The mattress was also not the most comfortable with both me and my partner rolling into the middle. Bedside lamps would have been a simple but welcome addition as would free additional coffee at breakfast to what is after all good value accommodation in Bario Escalante with great staff
