The unpaved road getting there.

It was quiet and amongst the trees. The management allowed my 84 year old husband and I to park right near our room. They opened up a gate for us to be able to do that.

Minerva on reception was excellent and very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is heated with a lovely view of the forest.

This was the best place to stay in Costa Rica, every morning during the breakfast we could observe the tropical forest, monkeys, agutis, tucans, hummingbirds, there is also a very nice swimming pool, the room has been cleaned every day, all staff were very helpful and caring. As we had a car it wasn´t a problem to visit different beaches around. We vere very happy to choose this place as it was calm in the evening and during the night, just the monkeys provided the alarm clock sometimes a bit too early.

A little way out of the town but we hired bikes, it is an easy ride ~ 15 minutes. Taxi is ~$10. There’s a good selection of restaurants 5-10 minutes walk.

Lovely property surrounded by lush rainforest. The room has a balcony looking out into the forest. Nice pool area and breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Beds and comfortable.

Once the hotel gets crowded you can hear the neighbours but this you find almost anywhere unfortunately. For me pillows were a little too strong/big but it depends on the person's preferences.

Andrea is such a nice owner and a great person. He answered any question and gave the recommendations needed. Thank you so much for your guidance & support! The place is a little oasis ca. 2 km from Playa Cocles. A moto or a bike is recommended to go to other beaches. Restaurants are ca. 20 min in walking distances. The place was clean and calm. To me it was very important to don't hear any cars and this is what I found there, thank you! I will come back for sure! Breakfast and pool-area was lovely! You feel you live in a wonderful jungle surrounded by animal voices ❤️. The balcons of the rooms are lovely too!! Thank you for all!

There is nothing I didn’t like about our stay. It was really great!

Very clean property with beautiful surroundings. full of lush vegetation and super close to shops and restaurants. The staff are all very friendly, the free breakfast was good and a great way to start your early morning off, the beach is a 5 minute walk and our room was freezing thanks to a strong AC which was awesome for the hot weather. Huge clean bathroom, great shower just get used to the dial as it’s different than North American showers. Cute private balcony as well. Would love to come back here in the future!

Breakfast could be improved a little. Scrambled eggs and Gallo Pinto needed a little seasoning and juice tasted a bit artificial. Coffee was very good though.

Excellent service and super friendly staff. Beds very comfortable, room and bathroom super clean. Jungle behind the house with wildlife to spot. Very quiet (there is only birds/howlers who might wake you up. kids loved the table pool and swimming pool.

The room unfortunately has zero sound proof between walls, as other reviewers have mentioned. Although this didn’t make or break our stay, I imagine it depends on which room you’re in and who is next to you. Wish the breakfast had a bit more of an option in terms of meat(bacon, cooked ham or even fried cheese). The amenities were great, however when hotel is at maximum capacity, the pool may not be comfortable to use.

First and foremost we enjoyed the friendly service, how secluded the property was and adjacent to the jungle. The bed was extremely comfortable and the AC worked very well. There was always clean and fresh towels throughout our stay and enough toiletries to last 5 days. Each day there was an option to have our room cleaned, and the property was very well maintained. The pool was refreshing and clean with an amazing view of the jungle surrounding the property.

Up a dirt road...fine on foot but rough on a bicycle. A little dusty at times when cars came by. No reason not to stay there though.

Staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was nice, always eggs, rice/beans, toast, fresh fruit and cereal. The pool was very nice, clean and a great temp. Room was spacious and lots of hot water for showers. A ten minute walk to nice beach. Bar on site. Nice also to have a small refrigerator to keep your beverages and left overs cold. :)

the entire setup was wonderful, walking in felt like you walk into a spa area. you had the view into nature, the pool he really nice size and on the evening we could invite friends over to play pool together for free.

as much it was central it was a bit off the main road so we could enjoy the city vibe without much of city noises. the breakfast was quite decent too.

The only thing we had a problem with was the bed and pillows. A little uncomfortable for us, but we are pretty picky about our sleep.

We loved our stay! The room was comfortable, we were right by the beautiful pool. Breakfast was a bonus. We are vegan and usually, there isn't anything for us. We enjoyed fruit, toast, juice, and coffee. All the staff was wonderful, fresh turn down every day. Would recommend it to anyone going to Puerto Viejo.
