The jacuzzi obviously hadn’t been used for a long time as the jets needed a clean, water was icy cold with no way of warming. Was a shame but is a social place and doesn’t need the jacuzzi. Just for information, not a negative, but the location is about 8km from La Fortuna, once off the main road, the lane to Encanto is in part, a typical Costa Rica unmade storey road, but we saw worse roads during our time in the country. If like remote and want the views, don’t let it put you off.

We booked two rooms, one with view of Arenal Volcano. Spectacular view and was great to be able to sit on balcony in rocking chairs and take in the view. Both rooms were clean, basic kitchen area with fridge, microwave, slow cooker. The neighbouring restaurant was open for pleasant evening meal and great breakfast (not included). Staff were helpful and also booked an early morning taxi for us in advance which was very much appreciated. Other facilities we didn’t use was a communal cooking area, large seating area and plenty of space to just chill and soak up the beauty and views.

Easy to confuse with Arenal Lodge due to name..English was quite poor and apparently they dont use a digital translator. Pin only worked on Google maps.

View of volcano, when not in clouds, is superb from rooms with that view. The garden view has some nice plants that shield the parking area...you could see your car but no need. Too off the beaten track for vandals. Despite difficult to locate even with Waze (forget Google maps here) it is a very good value. People with "garden view" can sit volcano-watch from next door restaurant. We had a beer because kitchenette with electric skillet toaster microwave, and fridge plus plates and utinsels was sufficient for us to cook. .Four days was long enough for us. Nearby is horse riding, hot water river (park free) just north o f Tabacon. Rockers a NB d tablecon porch great for eating, reading, snoozing. Restful! They do have good internet.

I suggest screens to keep your doors open at night without letting bugs/critters in. There is no AC, and the rooms can heat up quickly in the heat of the day, so opening the doors is the only way to cool things down. My room got quite stuffy so i braved the bugs and opened up at night. I would also suggest comfier beds as the metal coil mattress killed my back. Otherwise, it is a very unique and functional accommodation. Thank you!

I enjoyed my stay at Encanto. The staff was very communicative when I was running late to check-in. I had really wanted a volcano view room, but unfortunately, none were available, and this wasn't their fault. The facilities are very clean and functional with everything you need to stay comfortable and even cook a simple meal. There was even hot water in the shower!

The dogs kept barking at me when I walked past and they were also barking at night. Also one should be aware that this location is very remote, albeit beautiful.

They let me do the checkin slightly later than their official checkin times, which was nice

It's kind of an isolated place and very cumbersome to get to and from without your own car (Uber works sporadically, but they don't like the bumpy road out there). I highly recommend renting a car with excellent suspension if you stay here.

Calm and relaxing stay a bit outside La Fortuna with lovely nature around. It has a fantastic view of Arenal (although I can't confirm as it was cloudy and rainy during my stay). Very friendly and helpful people working here!

The road to the place is not the best. Also, there was a dog barking in the evening. Fortunately it stopped at some point.

This room is nice. It has a lot of free space, and even a bit of balcony space.

Perfect view over the volcano through a glass wall

Location far from any restaurant. Requires an unpleasant ride in the dark and requires a jeep. The roof is made of tin, if there is heavy rain the noise in the room is loud and wakes you up Price too high for this room There is no light or electricity near the bed, no anger for towels, we were unable to get hot water (unfortunately we showered late and gave up contacting the reception).

A beautiful bedroom, an amazing view and worth the mountain - a must upgrade, a cute little kitchenette for those who are looking for it. The room is clean and includes 2 towels per person, the jacuzzi was nice

- The unpaved road to reach the property can become annoying after 2/3 ways to come back home - The broken bed slats: please change the wooden bed into a metal one or something robust against the humidity : it just made the slats break and this made the bed not really comfortable - The lack of a ventilation system made the room feel very moist - The kitchen could have been equipped with at least some olive oil and some standard hot plates - as-is it was not really convenient for cooking so we ate instant pastas

- The hot tub to relax after a long day of hiking - Cleaning with new towels and sheets every day

The sleeping arrangement was unfortunately quite uncomfortable. The mattress is extremely stiff and has springs that poke through it. The pillows (there were only 2) were extremely flat. There were also dogs barking pretty much non stop both nights we were there.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but mostly out of sight which was welcome since the property is small. The location is great-I would recommend coming from the fortuna town through the road that passes the springs resort. On our way in our map took us through a much longer route that was on dirt road for the last 8km or so, which was pretty unpleasant. The room was clean and functional. Wi-Fi did the job.

i booked this place because I thought it had a view of the volvano, but it didnt , and was stuck with a view of the parking lot.

The room needs ventilation and screen door so you can open the door but keep the bugs out. The rooms are very stuffy.
