The door in the room was closing with some noise, however it was not critical.

I liked the location, the size of the room, and my kids liked both swimming pools. The property is located within walking distance of the beach. Roxanna is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the region. The restaurant has great dining options.

Roxana the owner, is a gem ! She helped us with our rental, she accommodated with changes to our reservation, she gave us a ride to discover a hidden gem near her hotel. She and her staff were 10/10 PLUS BONUS points for the succulent steak.house OMG the best meals we had during our entire trip to Costa Rica. Such amazing owner that sets a really beautiful and chill vibe !!

Nothing. It was just perfect!

El Colibri is a true hidden gem a hop skip and jump from the amazingly beautiful Playa Carrillo. This is our third stay at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt welcomed and treated as family. The room was spacious and exceeded our expectations. The beds were comfortable, and the little kitchenette had all the conveniences to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The two pools were just right for a dip to get out of the midday sun and with the beach a mere five-minute walk away was so convenient for an early morning swim and walk. Breakfast, which was included, was a choice of local or American with a la carte choices as well. We had dinner one night at their wonderful restaurant where my steak was done to perfection. Did I say we had a wonderful stay? :-)

We had some loud neighbors who stayed up late talking by the poor and then woke up at 6am to get back to it, but that's not really the fault of Cabinas.

The staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was excellent - at one point we asked about a turtle tour and the host called a contact that explained that (1) it wasn't prime turtle season and so seeing a turtle wasn't that likely and so (2) if we had a car she would tell us how to go and watch ourselves because it probably wasn't worth trying to book a full tour. Dinner in the restaurant was one of the best meals we had during our entire stay in Costa Rica. The included breakfast was also made to order and very good.

Due to the room description with patio, we expected a ground level room. Turns out two double bed rooms are in first floor, which is inconvenient with kids, but the staff helped us switch room for the available duration.

Staff, pools, beds, restroom, kitchen were all great! Restaurant dinner & drinks are delicious!

Breakfast was good and very substantial. Service was great too. Love the location and proximity to the lovely beach. Staff very warm and friendly. Will definitely return. Will recommend to friends and family for sure. Thanks everyone

There really wasn't anything wrong.

Casual, warm, relaxed but professional and reliable all around. Then the food and drink there, which I had not expected even to exist, was really fine as well as the atmosphere and service with which to have it all. Nice swimming pools too.

They were so kind and welcoming. They upgraded me to a beautiful room with extra space. The balcony is beautiful and a perfect spot to sit and relax most times of the day (the sun of course was a little intense at times). The pool was a really nice option for quick cooling off. The kitchen had everything I would need. The breakfast was really lovely and staff were helpful with bus and taxi information. The big windows and fan had the nicest breeze and kept things very comfortable at all times. I would definitely come here again!

We tend to go to bed on the earlier end of things and our room was right next to the kitchen, so it was a bit loud in evenings with dinner service. And it was awkward to want to use the pool or even walk to the other pool as tables were set up all around the pool and courtyard area.

The breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a nice little shelving area to unpack for awhile. Very close to the best beach I could imagine! (Just a steep hill to walk up on the way home) the steakhouse was delicious!
