Laurie is a wonderful woman, who is kind, generous and very down to earth. Miriam is a delight and very polite and helpful. the house is beautiful and in a quiet neighborhood. We slept well here and enjoyed the HUGE delicious breakfast in the morning. We’re sorry we couldn’t stay longer!

It would feel more secure if the room doors locked, although having staff there 24/7 mitigated our concerns.

Laurie’s B&B is super cute! Very convenient to the airport and downtown, gated and secure feeling, classy and spacious inside, large bathroom, great arrival snacks and breakfast, friendly dogs, and otherwise a great choice when landing late in SJO or flying out early.

There's no AC, but San Jose is a comfortable climate. I just wish they had a quieter fans in the room.

Great location! Quiet, peaceful, and residential, yet only a few well-lit blocks to a great grocery store and several restaurants. The building is beautiful and the hostess and her staff are exceptional. They really made us feel instantly at home.

We loved everything about this wonderful home and property. Laurie greeted us on one of her doorstep and invited us to enjoy a glass of wine on her spacious covered outdoor veranda where we could see iguana in the nearby trees. Her staff were wonderful and attentive when we had any needs. Truly a unique property and experience.

Shower was unpredictable-temperature and amount of water.

Beautiful old building. Loved the deck and the winding staircase. And the three resident dogs. Saw some beautiful birds from the deck. Had a glass of wine with the owner. Both owner and assistant were friendly, thoughtful, helped us in many ways. More than that, drove me all over to solve ATM issues. Hearty, delicious breakfasts!

However, like all adventures, ours had its hiccup. The absence of an A/C made for a slightly hotter ambiance. Moreover, a slight glitch with our reservation on the first night did cause a brief moment of anxiety. Thankfully, the efficient staff had the issue sorted and our room prepared in just 15 minutes.

The Cariari Bed & Breakfast is a charming abode that captures the essence of Costa Rican warmth. Greeting us with friendly faces, the staff left a lasting impression, especially Ms. Miriam, whose attentiveness stood out. Mornings were particularly delightful, as we savored our breakfast with views of a garden teeming with lizards and birds. This spectacle was beautifully complemented by the B&B's artistic interior, filled with enchanting artifacts. Strategically located, the property boasts proximity to the airport and an array of delightful restaurants, ensuring convenience at its best. An added feather to its cap is the safety it offers, allowing guests to unwind without a care. Furthermore, for those looking to explore further, the option to rent a car directly through the B&B is a boon.

We arrived at night and they sent a driver to pick us up and it was so easy and totally worth it. We were welcomed upon arrival and felt safe and taken care of. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. we enjoyed our stay with our kids.

It felt like a home away from home! The room was very comfortable and quiet. Our hostess was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The location is perfectly situated in a quiet neighborhood, but in walking distance to a number of good restaurants. One tip: Don't skip breakfast!

Best hotel and breakfast during our 5 weeks in Costa Rica!! The house resembles like a lovely decorated private villa. Lourie and her maid Miriam are incredibly helpful, welcoming and inspiring. The rooms are cosy, very clean and elegantly decorated like the rest of the house and the wonderful garden. Plus: the hotel is close to the airport but nevertheless quite and there are many good restaurants within walking distance.

This B and B is in a lovely colonial style character house in a quiet setting. If you like watching birds, get your binoculars ready. The host, Laurie and her team are super friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. A bonus is that there is a place within a quick walk to get your Covid test for international travel (Labin Cariari...best to book online in advance). In addition there are several good restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again!

Bed dirty the house was filty with dog hair everywhere no hot water it goes away after a few seconds no value its expensive compare to a regular hotel I don't recommend no one staying there
