Lamps instead of all overhead lights, especially in the bedrooms. Beds and pillows a bit uncomfortable.

The hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The jacuzzi was a nice bonus and they made it into a lovely private oasis. The refrigerator wasn't working but they sent someone to repair it very quickly.

Not enough hot water

The place is as expected: comfortable, clean, large (enough for a family of 4 or 2 couples) and has all the equipment to stay a while. The access was easy and staff very welcoming. The location is perfect with mini markets, restaurant, hot springs, sloth territory and the volcano at max 20 mn drive

It was impossible to find the house using the address and directions provided by Booking.com. I had to use the address for Hotel Faro Arenal, which is located right across the street.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alina's House in La Fortuna, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, David and his family were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. The house itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained, providing us with everything we needed for a comfortable night's stay. From the hot water and clean sheets to the provided coffee, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. One of the highlights of my stay was the excellent location of the house. It has easy access to downtown Fortuna and a variety of activities such as visiting La Fortuna Falls, Arenal Rafting Company, and enjoying the nearby hot springs. The only regret I have is not being able to stay longer to enjoy a home-cooked breakfast prepared by David. Unfortunately, I had to leave early for a whitewater tour, but I have no doubt that it would have been delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Alina's House to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in La Fortuna.

A mirror in the bathroom would be useful. Don't cut and paste the address on booking.com, this took us up a dirt track miles away. The accommodation is really easy to find otherwise.

Really spacious accommodation, with everything you would need for a self-catering trip. The casa is in secure grounds with electronic gate. The owners live on the first floor and are always available if you need any assistance.

The house has no name on it but we could identify it from the photos. There was no one there to receive us even though we had communicated exactly when we would arrive. We spoke to someone on the phone. Eventually the outside electric gate was opened remotely and the keys were in the door of the apartment. Shortly after the owner came and showed us around. seems to be a lack of communication between the owner and his son who does the online communicating. There should also be some instructions regarding the shower

So this is the lower part of the house. The owners live upstairs. Very nice people. It is a big apartment. Fully equipped kitchen. The shower is a Lorenzetti electric shower. If you open the water too much it will not heat. If you open it just a little it is great. Beds comfortable. Wifi very good in the living room and one of the bedrooms. No signal in second bedroom and kitchen. The pool that you can use at the hotel also has hot water jacuzzis. We only discovered that on the last day. It was too cold for normal pool but we managed to enjoy the jacuzzi. Very nice. If you have a car this is a good location. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it

The couch was too small and fits 2-3 people only, I would recommend replacing with larger, more comfortable seating. Our biggest issue was the hot water. It did not work until the last evening. We later found out how to make it work, unfortunately it was on the last evening, and we barely enjoyed it. We recommend providing instructions for future guests. Guests should be prepared for bugs to enter the home, as it is normal in most of Costa Rica. We would find 2-3 new critters each morning, but it was fine and didn’t really bother us. We kept food in the fridge and/or properly sealed, but the critters showed up regardless. There was also confusion initially communicating with the owner, as the contact phone number provided was not the owner at all and didn’t even expect messages or know what Casa Chigui was. Thankfully, the lady who showed up to open the gate for us was very kind and welcoming. Despite the confusion, everyone was nice, and we figured it out. Another suggestion is to provide a small table/stool or luggage rack in bedrooms so guests can put their suitcases there instead of the floor. Also, 4 towels was ok since we were 4 guests, but I would suggest 8 towels total since the Fortuna area is rainy and has many water activities. A washer & dryer would be a lovely addition also. The pool pictured in the listing was not at the property, so those pool pictures should be removed.

We are 2 couples and stayed 3 nights here, it was what we needed for a great price. It was a great value overall and we had a good experience. Very centrally located, and it was also secure with an automatic gate. The 2 bedrooms had fantastic AC wall units that worked very well and kept them at desired temperatures. Everything worked, including the Wi-Fi and a small TV with Netflix. Very peaceful, quiet sleep. Kitchen appliances all worked well. We paid in cash on our last day. GREAT value and because of the price, I’d give this a 9/10 overall.
