For the price i paid i have to give 10 points. It has everything you need and gets cleaned every day. Family that runs the business is also living there so it felt more like a homestay than a hostel. Not many travellers while i was there, which i liked. Wifi worked perfectly. Neighborhood is full of fancy restaurants and for those on a budget there is a walmart in 20 min walking distance.

Cold at night in March. They offer a bed sheet, and luckily I have my winter jacket, otherwise would be too cold to sleep. Be prepared for that. But it's better to be chilly than hot.

The walls are quite thin so you could hear people talking in the common area early in the morning.

There were only 4 lockers in the 10 bed dorm, but maybe they have more somewhere else. Maybe there's another option for the toast slices instead of putting them into those small plastic bags

Stayed for about a week at Casa Escalante and can totally recommend the hostel. It's just a very short walk to Barrio Escalante where you can find lots of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and the hostel has some kind of a family atmosphere. The dorms and bathrooms were clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The breakfast is basic but it's still nice that it is included.

The cleaning of the bathrooms could be improved though. The showers were a bit old and dirty. The breakfast is included but we had to leave too early and we couldn't take it.

Spacious private rooms and great common areas. The kitchen is fully equipped and very comfortable to cook in, in spite of the amount of people around. Private rooms are quite away so it's very quiet. Location is also very good.

The only thing i would say is an update of the room which felt a little dated but this did not take away from my experience which was a positive one.

Friendly small hostel near bars and restaurants in a safe area. Basic breakfast but cooking facilities available if you wish for more . Friendly staff, laundry service available Wifi worked well ..lots of hot water ..comfortable room (private) I would easily stay again

The beds were okay but little worn out. In the dorms the bathroom is in the actual room, so it's difficult to keep it quit in the morning while people are still sleeping. Still think it's really good value for money though and would come back!

Very good value for money and including a nice breakfast. Staff is super nice and helpful and the hostel is located in a nice safe area, around 20-30 minutes walk to the city center.

Some couples book a dorms (don’t know if it’s because all private rooms are occupied or they’re just being cheap).. it’s uncomfortable to have two ppl moving above you.. even just whispering. Couples should be told to take a private room or be placed in separate dorms. There’s a russian guy entering our room to use the shower even though it wasn’t his room.. Some hostels have a maximum stay of two weeks to avoid workers staying there cause it’s convenient to them and feeling too much at home. That’s how you keep the vibe of a travelers hostel

Located in a safe and beautiful neighborhood with many bars and restaurants and 20 min walk to the center. Plenty of bathroom with hot water. Rooms are being cleaned everyday and beds have a lot of privacy, The family who run the hostel are very kind and concern. Best price and best value for money

Really comfy, although the echo is quite loud so you'll hear every noise from outside the bedroom as if it was near you. The breakfast is nice. Great WiFi and the location is also nice: walkable distance to the city center, and in the neighborhood there are nice bars and restaurants.

When we booked, it said the room had a bathroom, but didnt make it clear its a shared bathroom (that could use a little renovation and was kind of. Messy during our stay) Also didnt warned us the air conditioner was “broken”, and it was hot during the days, but at Night roo were cooler, thank God. Location in Escalante is on the top of hills.
