Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

United StatesThere were a few maintenance issues but they were resolved very quickly. The bed was on the firmer side so it may be uncomfortable for some guests. The shades didn’t completely block out the sun so it was extremely bright early in the morning and very hot from the heat.
The staff is amazing! They made us feel at home and we’re very accommodating for our requests. The views from the property were unmatched. The restaurant above the room had amazing food.

United Kingdomunfortunately, quite a few things. the air con is really quite poor and we woke up boiling in the middle of the night and very early in the morning which led to us feeling very lethargic and unwell for the first half of the day. the curtains do not block out any of the sunlight in the mornings and the sun is so hot at this time it makes for a boiling hot room. the curtain did fall off the rail on the first night as the rail snapped in half, no idea how this could happen so we had to sleep with it off which wasn’t ideal. the reservation notes that the hotel has a restaurant and room service but it was closed for our stay. I don’t think this is acceptable, given that the property is quite a hilly walk away from any cafes or restaurants and no facilities for drinks are provided in the room. we did request a coffee machine and some mugs which the lady kindly brought for us. I think this could be an amazing place but it does need some work to make it perfect
The bungalow has a lovely aesthetic and finish. we loved the design of the property. the staff were great and very helpful. it was cleaned to a good standard and had lovely views.

This property provided breathtaking views of the expansive sea, offering a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. The soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore was a constant companion, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The proximity to the ocean allowed for easy access to beach activities like swimming, snorkeling, and beachcombing. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean waves just steps away was a highlight of our experience. Overall, the property's prime location by the ocean made for an unforgettable and rejuvenating getaway.

CanadaBEWARE: this is a SCAM. If you’re reading this review, please do NOT book this accommodation. We arrived yesterday and had the worst experience ever, we ended up leaving and staying at another hotel. We booked the double room/bungalow, and none of the 40 photos on the main booking page are of this room. Steven, the host, made us pay him up front and he was running all over the place as he was also a waiter for the restaurant. We arrived around 5pm and he told us our room is not ready yet even though we set check in from 2-3pm. After about 20 minutes, he led us to our room which is located directly behind the restaurant. THE ROOMS ARE ATTACHED TO THE RESTAURANT, there is NO private entry to the rooms, you will have to lug your suitcases between people dining in order to get to the rooms! When we entered the room this is what we saw: - The bed was not made correctly. They used a mattress cover as a fitted sheet, and there was no cover for the duvet. After close inspection, the sheets were stained and there were BUGS in the bed - The fridge was not on, and there was mouldy yogurt in it. - The floor was grimy, we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot - NO shower towels were given to us until 6pm - The shower and toilet are seperate and resemble a prison cell (photos attached) - Music is BLASTING from the restaurant and can be heard. Again, the room was about five feet from the nearest table. - The balcony is not actually a balcony, it is an unsafe net with giant iguanas on them - The balcony is also accessible from the restaurant, so technically anyone can walk on there and look into our room - A few minor things: curtains don’t close all the way, no trash bin, the door to the bathroom doesn’t close (we had to fix this), no safe, front door doesn’t have a handle. I also want to state that a lot of the reviews are for the restaurant, and NOT for the accommodation which is why they have good ratings. We fought for a refund, and never got one.

United StatesUnfortunately, I was unable to sleep due to the dirty bedding and conditions. The bed sheets had stains as if they were never washed, lipstick or makeup smudges and hair. I was disgusted so I slept on a towel which was beyond uncomfortable. The bathroom and shower still had globs of hair clogging the drain so the water didn’t go down easily. I brought this to their attention and there was no resolution or compensation. The location was off the beaten path so it wasn't very walkable. If you are looking for seclusion, this is the place for you. As the accommodations are under the restaurant, you are the only person there once the staff leaves except for a security guard. Made me feel slightly uncomfortable as a solo traveler.
I really loved the idea of Casa Lamia as it is a bungalow style room with a large outdoor patio. The furnishings are bohemian chic with natural tones and eco decor. The staff were wonderful, super friendly, and had beautiful personalities. They were so helpful in allowing me to check out a little later to freshen up after a tour.

United StatesI’m just weird with bugs. It’s literally the only thing I could complain about which makes Costa Rica an odd obsession for me as the insect encounters are inevitable.
The food was divine. Fresh and incredibly creative. Every cuisine had a little twist and some extra love and care put into it. The cocktails were thoughtful and refreshing. The stay was comfortable and the room was so vibey! Felt like I was glamping in the jungles of Costa Rica. Casa Lamia’s embodies all that is “Pura Vida”

SwitzerlandNo option to darken the room so Sunrise hits you directly in the face and the AC isn’t strong enough so it‘s not only super bright at 5 am it is also super hot. The couch is not made to sleep on. There was not even hand soap the doors are not closing properly and the restaurant is closed permanently.

United StatesA beautiful space and a great menu to boot it was the perfect getaway and exceeded my expectations. the Blackened lobster by far was my favourite on the menu along with the shrimp fried rice and Jerk chicken. The staff was super friendly and answered any and every question me and my husband had we really can't wait to come bacK. I highly recommend the sunset dinner, Casa Lamia is a true gem can't wait to comeback already. This was a perfect place to celebrate my anniversary.

The bungalow is bested in Casa Lamia a fusion restaurant with a gorgeous ocean view. They prepared a beach picnic for me and my girlfriend for her birthday. She was completely blown away.
