My family had a wonderful time staying at this property. It's only a 2 minute drive from the main town of Chachagua and about 20 minutes to La Fortuna. It is clean, bright, and spacious. While rustic, this is the perfect place for guests who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town of La Fortuna and have a more authentic experience of the region. There are so many little nooks and crannies to explore within a 5min drive but unfortunately we ran out of time! Loved being able to BBQ while the kids played in the pool, and sitting on the lovely back terrace in the evenings. The best part of this rental is the owner Carlos, who is a caring and attentive host that makes sure you feel right at home. We had a private tour of his family farm and my boys had so much fun learning about plants, handling the cacao beans, and making sugar cane juice. He is very passionate about his projects and it really shines through. Highly recommend!

There was nothing to dislike.

From start to finish Carlos was the perfect host. Before arriving he answered any questions I had. He come to greet us on arrival and talked us through a few things about the house. The house itself was spotlessly clean and for family of 5 adults it had all the facilities we needed for our 3 night stay. The outside area was amazing with all of the different trees and plants. We managed to spot some birds. The pool area was great with an outdoor kitchen. Which we had a bbq one night. We also went on a tour of Carlos Cocoa farm. He showed us around and we got to taste different herbs that he grows and drink freshly pressed sugar cane. We took part in grinding the beans and drinking hot chocolate as-well as making our own chocolate bars. It was such an authentic experience and very informative. My son planted a tree on his farm which he hopes to come back in a few years to see how it is growing .

It was really hot when we stayed and quite difficult to get cool in the house even with fans. Needed to sleep under mosquito nets as the house is open, which tend to be hotter.

Lots of space. Enjoyed all the outdoor spaces and seeing lots of birds and iguanas. The pool was nice for cooling off. Carlos was lovely and helpful and quick to respond to any questions

I loved this house so so much, I enjoyed being surrounded by nature, the privacy of the pool and how cozy this house was. Very comfortable. Not too in the country but not in city. It's a perfect location we had a bakery and market just a few minutes away which were perfect. Fenced in yard was also a big deal for me for when my son wanted to play outside.

This place exceeded my expectations: The space is HUGE (we almost felt guilty for having so much space for just two people) and the price is super affordable, it was almost too good to be true. Carlos arranged a taxi for us whenever we needed, as we did not have a rental car (I would recommend getting if you are trying to go back and forth between here and La Fortuna), but honestly we didn't want to leave the property. The pool, hammocks, pork, lights, and plants in the garden where everything we needed. We even had a sloth neighbor to watch hanging out in the trees! Went on a wildlife tour in La Fortuna, but honestly we saw all of the animals right here at the property! Had a night tour to ourselves at the house haha. 3 days was not enough time here, really really cool Costa Rican house, and Carlos is awesome!!!!! I've stayed at dozens of homes, hostels and airbnbs over the last 15 years, and this is my new favorite place ever.

Our family very much enjoyed staying in the family’s 3 bedroom rental house. The pool and property were great! The location is perfect to access the farm tour and La Fortuna easily.

The house has quite a ‘do-it-yourself’ feeling. E.g. Showers weren’t great. All walls are ‘open’ towards the road so you hear everything- and on this quiet road surprisingly much heavy traffic, and barking dogs. So ear plugs highly needed. It is further from town than I had expected. That is mostly my bed when booking it. It was not a real biggy tbh.

Screens would be good. Bed choices for 4 traveling adults needing proximity to bathrooms. This may have been my misconception when renting it.

Fly nets on windows had holes . No fly net on back door just open to the elements and bugs . Mosquito nets also had holes . All furniture worn . Very rustic setting. very far from La Fortuna due to conditions of roads. Some families will enjoy the authentic experience of living in a Rural setting but it was not for us.

Out door above ground pool was small but pleasant, views from back garden ,big fridge and tv ,wifi coverage in the house .Washing machine.
