Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe are young and agile so the steep hills and walking didn't bother us much but if you struggle physically at all, Manuel Antonio might be difficult for you in general. This hotel has lots of steep hills to walk up!
Our group requested rooms next together and were surprised with adjoining balconies with the most beautiful view. We saw monkeys within the first hour of our arrival and saw many more plus sloths on the property! The kind landscape employee went out of their way to show us two sloths that we would have missed otherwise! The front desk staff was incredibly helpful. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The pools were incredible - the adults only pool with the bar has a fantastic sunset view. This hotel is walkable to the beach but it's a bit steep. The bus (only 320 colones per person) and/or taxis are easy to access though to get into downtown Manuel Antonio, the beaches, or Quepos. Highly recommend Hotel Costa Verde!

United KingdomBathroom was TINY and dated. Service at breakfast was hit and miss a couple of times. The hotel is very spaced out on a big hill-fine if you’re young and fit to get down to the beach. The shuttle back up was quite infrequent and the taxis in my opinion were expensive 8-10 USD.
Beautiful views from the room! Absolutely stunning! We were definitely able to see lots from our balcony including monkeys, toucans, and a whole host of other birds. Good to have an adults only pool-great views of the sunset from here. Beds were very hard (which is how I like it)-so found it very comfortable. The restaurant El Wagon had excellent pizzas!

United KingdomBeds and sofas very hard :( Although it is only 5/10 mins walk to beach downhill coming back you need the bus as its so steep up the hill and thus makes you feel a bit cut off if you don't have transport. Road noise - which seems to be a big problem all over Costa Rica.
Huge spacious accommodation, lovely pool area at adults only surrounded by lush vegetation. Our garden view room also had a side sea view from the room and balcony which was lovely. The reception staff were very helpful in altering my booking for me before arrival.

United KingdomThe accommodation and pool were adults only. Unfortunately on 2 occasions families came with children. On one occasion they were asked to go to the child friendly pool(s) but on the other occasion the bartender was too busy to do so. This may seem picky but when you pay a lot more money to be "adult only" you expect it to be so.
Service was really good. We had an amazing room CVII Room 4. Superb views. Room was huge, comfy and clean with a large kitchen and amenities. It is a large site so transport to local restaurants was provided. We saw lots of monkeys and birds on the site. For a large hotel it seemed quite quiet. Maybe because we were in the adults only accommodation. I would go back for the view (overlooking the pool, pacific ocean and rainforest) and the wildlife, the location is perfect. The pura vida cocktails were fabulous!

United StatesThe bathroom was small and dated for the price the hotel charges.
We had a bungalow with jungle and sea views, it was fantastic. The bungalow was across a busy road from the reception area, but the hotel has internal free transportation service that moves you around.

United StatesThe property is on a side of a mountain so expect a lot of climbing up and down. We we’re pretty active and by the third day, I was really feeling my legs.
We loved all of the wildlife we saw each day and the amazing views from the pool area and our front porch. Our room was comfortable and very private. The property offers multiple pools and numerous restaurants all within walking distance. They do provide shuttle to get you around the property. Everyone was super friendly.

It should not be called a hotel. This is a vacation destination. The property is an expansive jungle experience. We saw sloths, toucans, 3 types of monkeys, macaws and some little thing that looked like a mini tapir. I booked the 727 airplane for my wife’s birthday. We got there a day early and booked a studio. They upgraded me to an ocean view suite. Beautiful ocean and sunset views. The second night we stayed in the 727. Unbelievable! The views are spectacular. Beware if you have food on your deck, apparently my papaya is the spider monkey’s papaya. We stayed another 2 nights in a studio. Great times there with the monkeys. the Capuchin are a little more skittish but I heard they’ll steal your stuff. Watch your wallets and cell phones. This is an awesome place to stay and we will be back. Great restaurants in the area too. Pizza place has great pizza and El Avion is epic. especially for the sunsets. Pura Vida

Big thanks Marcela and her teammates (lo más humilde equipo :-) , they were super helpful and nice. In addition we got an uograde for free and enjoyed a room with an amazing view on the pacific. we stayed here in the low season, we were lucky that the area was not crowded at all, which was also great and we guess also beneficial when visiting Manuel Antonio National Park

The room was well equipped with everything you needed to make your own meals. There was plenty of dishes, cutlery and glasses. Even coffee was provided every day. The view from our room was gorgeous. The first night we had a great sunset. The room was very spacious. The front desk was very helpful. The day we were supposed to go to Manuel Antonio Park we were running late and someone gave us a ride.

United StatesThe restaurant was closed all week for renovation, we would be happy to know that before we arrived. The walk to the beach could be open at least in the morning, so we wouldn't need to go all the way around the all hotel property.
