Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was perfect!! It was only us at the property. You are in the middle of the nature, to Welcome us we had the chance to see some Capucins monkeys :-) The view at the swimming pool is gorgeous, it the best spot to see the sunset. The room was nice and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant ( breakfast, lunch and dinner), the food was fresh and made from scratch. Delicious! Thank you to Denis and all the staff who take care of us. If you would like to go to the village, you could use the walking path through the jungle. Excellent experience.

FranceWe loved the location. Away from the town but not too far to feel disconnected. The facilities were beautiful and the staff very friendly, especially Alonso who always greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home.

SwitzerlandMore as a FYI: There is no WLAN in the rooms.
This accommodation was exceptional. I enjoyed every minute of it - from start to finish. The location is gorgeous. You are picked up from the airport and have to travel by boat for about 10minutes. You are greeted with a welcome drink. The rooms are very clean and have a/c. The food is delicious. With every meal served, there is also fresh juice. The owner, Bryan, is also very kind and helpful. I would come back anytime and highly recommend this place.

United KingdomWe didn't realise how far out the hotel is from Drake Bay - mostly because it is on the far side of the river. The hotel staff picked us up from the beach on a boat (it was a wet landing!) and the only options to get into town were to either be taken on the boat or to walk. The walk into town is at least 50 minutes - you go into the forest and follow a trail up-river until you cross the river on a rope bridge, then back down the river and follow the bay around. You need to be able bodied to walk this trail, and it is quite taxing. If you walked back after dark, it would be quite treacherous so I wouldn't recommend. Because of this, you should realistically plan to eat most meals at the hotel (especially dinner), and include those costs in your budget (I think it was $20 per head for dinner but you could check with Bryan the host.) We hadn't really budgeted to spend so much on meals, so this was an unexpected expense. We decided to walk into Drake Bay for lunch one day, which wasn't the most exciting activity as there isn't a lot in the town itself. We would have been better off enjoying one of the hiking trails instead! We thought we might find a better price for the excursions if we shopped around but it seems they are all the same price throughout the town. So, if you are planning to eat and drink on-site anyway, then this would be good for you. The food was great and there was always a good vegetarian option available. You could stay here and only leave the hotel to go on hikes or excursions, and have a lovely time!
Lovely host, clean room and great food. There is a Tapir who sometimes visits the garden (although we didn't see him). The hotel grounds have lovely views of the sea, river and easy access to the forest. The view of the river is particularly lovely, with beautiful birds, morpho butterflies and even a couple of crocs on the other side of the river! Plenty of wildlife on the property (eg. monkeys, lizards, squirrels) as well as dog and cats. The rooms are sealed and air conditioned so we didn't find any critters in our room! You can take a (steep) walk through the forest to find some small secluded beaches. You can follow the trail further along for a proper hike, although we didn't manage to do this. And you can borrow kayaks from reception. There are also lots of tours you can do from the hotel. You will want to visit Corcovado National Park - to get into the park, you need to be booked on to a tour, and they will pick you up by boat from the hotel. We went to San Pedrillo ranger station, which cost $95 each. Sirena station is more expensive, and an extra hour each way on the boat. I'm really glad we chose San Pedrillo because we got to see lots of great wildlife and swam in a waterfall, plus we got snacks+water included and lunch when we returned to Drake Bay. Another good tour is The Bug Lady. On this tour, a pair of biologists take you on a night tour of the forest and show you cool creatures like Bats, Scorpions, Spiders, Frogs and Snakes. We even saw a Tamandua! This costs $50 per head and takes place on the trail between the hotel and town. So it was a little thrilling to learn that the trail we had walked to get into town, was in fact so full of spooky creatures! The tour starts at Hotel Jinites De Osa, which is about 30mins away (half way along the trail to Drake Bay), then they walk up the trail to Paradise Point hotel, and back.

United KingdomTea and coffee was meant to be provided in the bar area all day but was only there certain times. The bar only opened 4.30pm to 10pm. No ice cream or other items if you were by the pool all day. People may not want to hike every day so they are missing a trick with people that want to relax. There was no choice on the food. Either meat, fish or vegetarian option. I know the site is remote but it isn't cheap. I have stayed on more remote islands and had a menu to choose from. Also it felt a bit regimented as food was only at set times. 6.30pm for dinner in the dining room. The only option was water and juice for drinks. You are held captive as it is a boat and 20 mins walk to Drake Bay town if you want any choice of food or alcohol.
This is the best accommodation at Drake Bay. Very remote and rustic (the whole of Drake Bay is!). The whole point of staying here is to take the hikes into the National Park. I had a knee injury so was looking forward to chilling out instead and seeing wildlife on the property instead. We did see lots of scarlet macaws. The room was clean and comfy. Nice views over the ocean and grounds. Staff were friendly and helpful.
