How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing especially. There is not much around this place, but for a short stopover sleep it's great
Simple, but nice place :) very friendly lady welcoming me late at night and went to meet a shuttle bus driver with at 4 am outside the hotel.

The property is a little far from the town, it is nice for a short stay and very comfortable when arriving or living from the airport. Katty helps to organise the taxi.
Katty is amazing, she was very welcoming. The property is really clean, Katty cleans regularly and washes the floor. She also feeds the birds and colibri in front of the window which is amazing. There is a panaderia 5 minutes from the place where you can get quick things to eat.

Katty is great. She gracefully handles clients checking in at all hours of the night just 20 minutes walk from the airport. She takes care of everyone like their family.

A bit noisy due to the airplanes but there’s nothing you can do about it
Katty was amazing!! Helped me with taxi, pizza order, grocery store, morning coffee, everything! I had my own room, it was spacious and nice, no A/C but that was to be expected. Shared shower was clean.

hard to locate this place when we got here. Owner should ensure guests coming in the night via taxi/ uber can easily locate this place.
Owner was very welcoming and took personal care to make sure we have a nice stay and woke us up at 4 am for our airport ride. She arranged for the ride as well. Recommend this place for a 5 min. distance from the SJO airport. The room given to us was spacious.

There is no air conditioning but there was a fan so for me it was enough
Katie is so cute and with good energy, she helped me with a taxi to the airport and showed me her cute parrot

The only area for improvement would be the shared room I stayed in didn't have a window. However, I understand with the location of the room and the building that a window would not be possible so I did not mind. I believe the private room has windows so if you do want a room with a window it is possible, just ask Katty.
I enjoyed staying here because Katty made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the kitchen and living space had a nice atmosphere. I plan on staying here when travelling to San Jose in the future!

It’s a little difficult to find (for me anyway) just message her before about it if you are arriving in the dark maybe
Got there after a long travel day at midnight and Kathy was so lovely and welcoming made me feel very at home!! Would definitely recommend if you need to spend a night near the airport

Katy is so nice, understanding and accommodating. The kitchen and living room has a gorgeous view of the city. She really cares about her place and makes sure that you are comfortable.

Katty made us feel so welcome and at home. We just stayed one night from catching the plane. The rooms were comfortable and quiet and katty helped us to get our feet off the ground in Costa Rica!
