I wouldn’t say we didn’t like it, but I think knowing that the house is located high up on a hill and is accessed by steep, largely dirt roads would have maybe been nice to know ahead of time just to appreciate the location relative to town.

The apartment was beautiful and spacious, and was a great place to end our trip. The views were gorgeous from the balcony and the pool was refreshing after days exploring the area in the heat.

Despite a challenging road, our SUV handled it well.

I had a wonderful stay at Karl's apartment! He was a fantastic and helpful host. The apartment itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The highlight was the balcony, where we enjoyed frequent visits from macaws and monkeys. You will be fully submerged in nature. Overall, a delightful experience in a unique and comfortable setting.

Beautiful apartment with a million dollar view of the sunset over the Pacific. We were visited by small monkeys and large Macaws. Carl was a wonderful host. He told us of many unique and delicious restaurants. He also directed us to the best beaches in the area.

I loved the location of it being right between Manuel Antonio and Quepos. Extremely convenient with a car and a great view as it’s right on top of the hill. A car is a must for convenience.

Steep rough road was difficult for car; need 4 wheel drive. Need hooks for towels and clothes in bathroom. Faint mildew smell. Saute Pan was not usable.

Setting was nice with Macaws' visits. Apt was beautiful, clean and roomy. Netflix was great addition. Pool was lovely. Most dishware available. Air conditioner and fans! Host was super helpful and kind.

The drive up the first time caused a little anxiety, but once we'd driven it once, we got comfortable.

Karl, the host is exceptional. One can see the genuine pride in his place. The apartments are beautifully laid out, the beds comfortable, and the setting is truly extraordinary. We spent every morning and evening enjoying the wildlife that lived in and visited the trees in front of our huge balcony. Every morning we were visited by scarlet macaws, and today we saw a flock of toucans. Each evening two kinkajou scampered in the trees. Karl provided us with a flashlight, and we loved watching these nimble critters gathering nectar. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It truly was a magical experience.

nothing - it was perfect

Beautiful and stylish apartment with a Birds Eye view - literally. Wonderful to sit on the balcony in the morning and evening and watch all of the different species of birds coming and going, as well as the monkeys in the trees - and spectacular sunsets. Karl was such a lovely host with so many suggestions and recommendations- especially for places to visit away from the main tourist spots. Wish we could have stayed longer.

There was nothing we didn't like. You need a little patience to sort out taxis into town - and be prepared sometimes to walk down the steep path - but this is fine. Uber worked well for drop offs at La Maison Blanche and pick up at the bottom of the path. Town taxis would come and collect but ideally need enough Spanish to call and arrange them.

Everything about La Maison Blanche was fantastic. Sublime location, slightly away from the tourist trawl. Loads of wildlife. The room was wonderful and very private. Great view and wonderful sunsets. Excellent facilities to make food if needed. Brilliant service from Karl who was super friendly and helpful - he really went the extra mile.

La Maison Blanche is a beautiful place where to enjoy Manuel Antonio. The view is amazing and we saw macaw and several other animals just from our balcony. Karl is very welcoming and gave us a lot of good tips. Thanks!

There was nothing that we didn't like about the property. Just a tip, the property is at the top of a mountain and the road to it is very steep and has many sharp curves which can be quite difficult for large vehicles.

Beautiful, exceptionally well maintained property surrounded by an abundance of wildlife with amazing views! Host Karl was very kind and went above and beyond to help make our stay as comfortable as possible!

well it has to be uphill to have such a location. no biggie but car is highly advisable.

We were not prepared for the street that leads you up to the location. If renting a car, I would recommend an AWD or 4WD, but we were able to make it with a small sedan. We were not aware how narrow and steep the roads could be in Costa Rica.
