Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This was probably one of the nicest locations we stayed at during our journey around Costa Rica! The wooden tents in the jungle were great. In the evening we could see lots of wildlife like frogs, turtles and snakes - in the morning you'd wake up by the sound of the jungle. Food was also super tasty. The pool looked nice, too, but unfortunately we had no time to try it. Would definitely stay again.

AustriaThe staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and the portions really big. The location of the accommodation is great. There is a little stream of water running along the path to the houses which attracts a lot of frogs and toads which is great for photography. Next to the restaurant is a little pond which attracts birds and other animals. We enjoyed our stay very much, it is a great place to relax.

United StatesI can’t think of anything.
I loved the tent/room being nearly outside, but still protected. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. Bathroom was clean. The trail was well maintained and a great way to start the day. La Tigra exceeded my expectations. I only wish I could’ve stayed one more day, but I didn’t know how wonderful it was.

Our stay at La Tigra Rainforest Lodge was truly a highlight of our Costa Rica trip. Having visited multiple places across the country, this one stood out as the most memorable by far. The food at La Tigra is simply amazing, with each dish crafted with care and attention to detail. From the quality and diversity of the menu to the beautiful presentation of the plates, it was a culinary delight at every meal. Our room was beyond amazing, boasting a stunning view of the jungle that made us feel like we were in a dream. Not only were the rooms impeccably clean, but we were pleasantly surprised to find warm water—a luxury in the midst of the rainforest. The entire experience felt surreal and truly special, something we know we'll never forget. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to explain everything clearly and ensuring that our every need was met. Their genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. One of the highlights of our stay was the frog tour, which we had the pleasure of experiencing twice—once in rain and once in dry weather. Each time was a unique and magical encounter with Costa Rica's incredible biodiversity. The journey to La Tigra was an adventure in itself, with the scenic drive requiring a 4x4 vehicle and a leisurely pace. But the anticipation of what awaited us at the lodge made it all the more exciting. In conclusion, La Tigra Rainforest Lodge surpassed all our expectations and left us with memories that will last a lifetime. It truly was the most memorable stay of our trip, and we can't wait to return someday.

United StatesReally cool experience. It's about 45-50mins away from La Fortuna city center but it was worth for us to spend a day here to get a real feel of the rainforest. They have a cool garden where they grow food. The food was really nice and breakfast was also really good. We had a perfect time in this lodge. We also did a night tour with for $15/person which was cool. We booked this when we checked in. Saw a bunch of frogs, sleeping birds and a snake. People shared that it's hard to get here due to the dirt road and how steep it is which had me concerned but its really not that bad. There is one section of the road which is steep but a corollla/camry can get through no prob. You dont need a 4*4 for this although I see how it make make some people more confortable. All in all a really great experience.

CanadaInternet went out with large rain stormeven in the dry season, so ouldn't connect with uber driver and unsure night tour would run or not ....ended up returning to LA Fortuna a day early to be sure we would get a ride into town to catch a prebooked shuttle next a,m. For playa Coco. Stressful but staff tried to help us.
Very clean, great food. Wonderful forest jungle location with walking path. Nice dining/check in lodge. Large, esthetic jungle room and deck facing jungle for viewing wild life. Even had a rare white Honduran bat nested outside in rafters. Good service from staff
