The pool is on the small side, just big enough to cool off, really. There is plenty of seating around it, though.

This is an older, mom-and-pop style hotel that has its own unique charm - definitely non-cookie cutter. I am a sucker for this kind of place, admittedly. The rooms are in excellent repair, immaculately clean, and better appointed than most. You could say that about the entire property -- pool area, gardens, etc. The food is far better than you would expect from a hotel -- properly cooked eggs, excellent breakfast spread, and some of the best ceviche I've ever had. The restaurant is lovely, outdoors, and serves topnotch food -- we actually had dinner there three times -- it was that good. It also had live music at least one of the nights. The staff are wonderful, as always seems to be the case in Costa Rica, and particularly helpful when I had an injury that required medical attention. The pool area is nice and features a swim-up bar.

The bathroom was a bit too small for 2 persons! The variety of selection for the breakfast was limited! Despite the happy hours on a daily basis the prices of the cocktail were expensive,

An additional luggage stand would have been helpful. Also more storage space. The ability to use a sheet to cover up on the bed without having a blanket too.

The breakfast was fabulous; a wide variety of food. There was not really anything it lacked. It was within walking distance of the sister hotel we were staying in.

My girl Sofia was on the ball from the minute I contacted the hotel. So much information shared and she was on it! Excellent excellent service and stay. I loved this hotel and the front desk was amazing and attentive and made our stay in the Manual Antonio area one of my favorite nights in Costa Rica. Thank you Thank you

It was not clarified that our booking was at espadilla gardens , which is a sister property just across the road from hotel playa espadilla. It would have helped if they clarified it in their communication to us as we were tired after driving long distance and parked at one place, but were told to go to the other property .

The fact that we weren’t warned that there are two separate hotels and that they put two hotels under one booking.com. Causes confusion and discourages to go to the restaurant area during the day. One side of the room had a consistent noise of a generator—it vibrated the bed and constantly crashing woke up one of the persons staying in the triple room.

location, the Gardens hotel specifically is super closer to the beach and has a pleasant path to the beach. Take note that the hotel is actually two separate ones. The Gardens one has no restaurants but has access closer access to beach, whilst the other sister hotel has 2 wonderful restaurants but is a bit further away from the beach. The rooms are clean, cozy and unique in the design. The pool area is great. This hotel complex has 2 of the highest rated restaurants in the area. Really recommend Thursday nights at Morpho restaurant that has live music and beach vibes—the evening was magical.

Very big clean room with really comfy beds. Nicely decorated, immaculate gardens, beautiful sun lounger beds, great pool. Delicious food and drinks from the bar. Quiet and peaceful location very short walk from beach/restaurants. Staff were so welcoming and helpful.

The hotel and grounds were very nice, clean and modern. The pool was great to swim in, and it was lit at night. Around the grounds you can see lots of lizards, birds and monkeys. There was even a monkey on our roof! Food at the restaurant was very nice but a bit expensive, we got free desserts, though, which helped. Very close to the beach and Manuel Antonil National Park.
