My room felt really tight, 6 beds in a small space with no lockers or hooks to hang things so everyone’s stuff was scattered everywhere. Staff were friendly but not overly helpful with suggesting tours or activities to do.

Great location, close to the main town but far enough that it’s quiet. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen area was very big, and there was a nice yoga area with mats provided. Staff were friendly and easy going.

- all rooms have open space above door, so you could hear everything that was going on in the hostel - no window in private room so it got stuffy - kitchen appliances worked inconsistently and were not the cleanest Overall nevertheless good value for money in this expensive town :)

Free coffee which is always my favourite, but they don't have a pot going until 8.... I'm a super early riser so coffee options maybe an hour earlier would have been nice? Since it's very quiet around town for options early. La Fortuna is lots of excursions that start early in the morning, so nice to wake up and crush a cup quick then move along with your busy day.

Kitchen is kept nice and clean by hostel standards. Rooms have enough space, and there's a good lounge zone. It's a great size to meet some people and have a good social vibe. Not all the rooms are A/C'd so if that's super high on your list of needs, double check.

Very hot!! The staff come in at 07:30 in the morning (waking you up) and turn off the ac, so during the day there is nowhere to stay where you do not overheat. There are no keys to the rooms, and you only get a small locker next to the kitchen for your valuables. They said there would be a security guard in the night when the reception is closed, but we never saw one. Felt unsafe.

Good location and useful kitchen. They have a good amount of activities you can join.

10 beds to 1 bathroom was too crammed and inconvenient. When I checked in I felt like the staff got even more confused with basic questions I had about the hostel. I had to ask several times about the breakfast I had booked, which she woulnt have explained if I hadnt asked about it. She couldn't tell me where the breakfast was, as it was at another hotel close by. I found it by asking another employee the following day.

Rooms and bathroom lacked basics. Nowhere to hang wet towels and no bin in the room. No mirrors in the place. Very loud in the rooms as doors had gaps at the top of them and people used the kitchen even outside of the suggested hours.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Location was great. Kitchen was well equipped and clean.

Rooms are too crowded. Asian girl in the reception could be more friendly and smile. Many young and old ppl in the same rooms (seems like groups of students with their parents) so it doesn’t have a backpacker hostel vibe if you know what I mean

The rooms nor the facilities are very clean, doors cannot be locked so everyone can come in and when people smoke on the terrace, the smell just goes right into the room. The ventilators at the beds make a lot of noise and you hear the vibration the moment you put your head on your pillow

Beds are a bit fragile so in the bunkbeds you can feel too much if the one upstairs is moving. We found rests if someone dinner and clothes drying in our beds on arrival, my pillow folder was dirty, which can be very unpleasant if you arrive after a long road drive expecting a good night sleep, maybe staff can check beds before check in

Common areas were good and with free coffee and tea + kitchen. Staff was very kind and helpful with our route informations needed. There were courtains in the bunkbeds

After first night an expensive face product was stolen from me. Not enough showers and bathrooms, too small room, no hangers or shelfs at all.

Location, tours and easy access to shuttles. Staff at reception was helpful.

No hooks on walls to hang clothes. No shelves up walls. Jammed for place to put luggage. No place for wet towels or clothes to dry. Ash trays left full dirty and wet.

The internet was super bad, you can't use this wifi it's less than 2.5mbs.... also the beds are self-made so it looks super not safety :( and you can't pay card there, only cash

The shared bathroom wasn't clean. They only provided a very thin bed sheet which wasn't comfy. Room needed hooks and a mirror at the very minimum.

The hostel was very close to the main town. The air conditioning was great. It was good value for money.

i paid for a female only dorm but they over booked the accom so i had to stay in a mixed dorm across from a man who looked into my bed through the xurtains the staff were unfriendly and slow they didn’t offer any other option when i specifically booked the female only dorm and due to their issues i wasn’t in one !!!

Room was stuffy and hot even with small individual fans. The road noise made it difficult to sleep as heavy machinery kept shaking the ground.Needed an umbrella to go to the shared areas.

There was no AC. There are small ventilators installed on the bed, but it stays really warm in the room. Didn’t particularly liked that the doors of the rooms weren’t able to lock. Because some of the rooms are on the side of the street, this does nog feel safe.

There are very simple measures the hostel could take to help: Put up shelves in the kitchen for storage of non-refrigerated food. Put hooks on the bathrooms so you have somewhere to hang your clothes and towel while showering! Hooks at the bed - otherwise where to you leave your damp towel. Bedlamps!!! Once the main light is switched off it's pitch dark- not the best for climbing up into a bunk bed and looking for the switch for the fan. Shelves in the dorms!!! I had to sleep with all my luggage in the top bunk with me as there was nowhere to put anything. Unfortunately I have to say this was the most uncomfortable bed I experienced in 11 months travelling. The bunk is so high/the ceiling so low, you can't even sit up. It's like a tight cave you can only crawl in. And I didn't feel I had a mattress. Seemed like a block of hard foam. I was hurting everywhere and didn't sleep 1 hour in two nights. Where it really fell down was the 2nd day in the morning. The first day I got my breakfast stuff at 6.30 and all was fine. The 2nd day I had 1 hr to prepare and enjoy my breakfast, wash up, brush teeth etc and be ready for my transport pick up. However the kitchen area was LOCKED. In the end I had minutes to woolf down my breakfast and it was a mad rush. The hostel knows that pick ups for tours start early. So open your kitchen!

Great location in a super quiet neighbourhood. Feels almost residential. Little stream running at the back. Kitchen and common areas were clean. Full bathroom in the dorm with mirror (!). No running down a corridor to get to a shower or toilet.
