Great Location, 20 Minute Drive from sjo airport, but very quiet and in the Nature, friendly hosts and great breakfast, great place to arrive!

Waiting for driver from airport to the inn was delayed an hour, possibly due to traffic problems. But it didn't change how delighted I was to stay here.

Doris went above and beyond to take care of my needs. I would consider staying with her at Rancha Verde in Guanacaste if I travel that way in the future. Quiet spot. Bountiful homecooked breakfast.

I can really recommend this place. It is clean, has great WiFi, has a beautiful view, is in a good localisation (close to San Jose and the airport), has a delicious breakfast, and has a great, helpful and nice host with good communication.

The birds wake you up early, but maybe this was good not bad

I was treated so kindly by the family that owns this resort. I arrived late and was not close to an open restaurant. They were so nice and made me a wonderful meal. It was like visiting family.

Remote and quiet. So green and so many birds. Doris is a wonderful hostess. Fresh fruit for breakfast and the best coffee ☕️ in the world.

Doris was lovely and so accommodating. She even cooked a vegan meal just for me that was delicious! And woke up at 2:00AM to drive me to the airport. I love how my room had a small kitchenette with a kettle and bowls, plates, utensils, etc. It also included a humidifier and fan I could use. There was a small seating area in the room as well and a long mirror for trying on clothes. The bed was big, clean, and comfortable. I will definitely return for a longer stay!

Not very close to a bus station as you will always need to request uber. Some rooms are downstairs, if you have any locomotion dessese, make sure they book a room with no stairs required.

Spacious room with private bathroom and small kitchen. Very nice landscape from the terrace. Breakfast included and well made. Doris helped me to set up my SIM card for my trip.

Everything was amazing!

Incredibly clean, cozy, and amazing owners/staff. The views are stunning for being just outside of town and perfect for a last or first night in Costa Rica before flying out of SJO! The hangout areas are great and comfortable for unwinding and relaxing outside with a view. The breakfast was also so so good. Gallo pinto, fresh fruit, coffee OJ. Definitely recommend and we will be back!

Everything was lovely.

Lovely room, house beautifully decorated, and the view from the communal balconies was magnificent. The owner Doris was charming and drove us to the airport. She made delicious breakfasts and helped with sight-seeing.

Could not switch on the ceiling vent, but I was okay without it. It is not a con, but keep in mind, that this is of a somewhat remote location, so plan your transport ahead, or ask for help.

I wanted to stay away from the capital after my arrivel so I could explore the area around San José but be in a more relaxed environment. Rancha Azul is perfect if you are thinking the same. Doris is a very warm hearted, flexible and welcoming host, she was awake when I arrived around 1:30 AM in the morning, organised my transfer to and back to the airport (although the second was a bit tricky and tight, and made me a bit nervous that I don't reach my shuttle, but eventually everything turned out okay). The breakfast is also delicious and perfect for one or two days (fresh fruits, gallo pinto, coffee, orange juice). The view from the terrace is also spectacular, the ideal way of getting into the pura vida feeling of Costa Rica. To have breakfast and see hummingbirds feeding on the nectar of the flowers, is just amazing.

small bathroom but did what a bathroom should do and was very clean.

great private spot just outside the city if you are looking to get out of the bustle. we only stayed for a quick night while running San Jose errands. very neat layout. beautiful views. private secure parking. felt like a well cared for abuela house and Dorris was very helpful and attentive. breakfast was a nice addition.
