The property was beautiful and you can tell Carlos and his family take great pride in making sure their guests have a wonderful time during their stay. Feels like you are being hosted by the family versus staying at a hotel. If you don’t have a car it is not far to catch a local bus to go into town or the beach.

Riverside Villas offers an incredibly beautiful room with a great view of the adjacent forest and the most spacious and comfortable bed we've ever experienced traveling. The friendly staff added to the charm, making our stay even more enjoyable. One of the biggest compliments we can give is that we regretted not spending an extra night here. We had no big expectations for our overnight stop in Manuel Antonio on our way south, but Riverside Villas was the most positively surprising accommodation of our trip. The property is small enough to ensure a private experience, providing a peaceful retreat even though it's conveniently located right outside the touristy towns of Manuel Antonio and Quepos. This balance makes Riverside Villas a perfect choice for those looking to enjoy both tranquility and easy access to popular destinations. Overall, Riverside Villas is a hidden gem that offers exceptional comfort, privacy, and convenience. We highly recommend it and would definitely book again if we return!

It was a beautiful location just of the main path. The owners treat you as old friends, the food was delicious (I recommend the tipico for breakfast) and the bungalows had outside seating so you can see and hear nature! We also saw so much wildlife including, scarlet macaws, toucans, Jesus Christ lizards and a sloth hung out for 3 of the days we were there! We can’t wait to come back.

This was our favorite stay during our round trip in Costa Rica. The location was perfect, not too far from Manuel Antonio but still a quiet and green surrounding. The room was spotless clean and spacious. The terrace was lovely and we could spot a lot of squirrel monkies in the trees around our room. The owner was very friendly and helpful . We would highly recommend this place when visiting Manuel Antonio.

Beautiful boutique hotel with incredible flora and fauna onsite. We saw macaws and sloths and monkeys on the grounds of the hotel. The hosts Carlos and Charlie go out of their way to ensure that your stay is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the restaurant is excellent. The pool is a welcome refreshment after a long day sweating in the jungle. 10/10.

Riverside Villas in Manuel Antonio is truly a slice of paradise crafted by owner Carlos, and his family. From waking up to the melodies of toucans and exotic birds to admiring resident sloth Pepe and vibrant macaws by the pool, every moment is a testament to nature's beauty. The occasional visits from playful squirrel monkeys only added to the enchantment. Dining by the creek and dinners amidst the jungle's symphony were unforgettable experiences. Yet, what truly sets this place apart is the genuine warmth, humor, and hospitality of Carlos and his family & staff leaving a mark on our hearts. They've not only created a haven but also fostered a sense of belonging that will forever linger in our memories. We’ll miss you!

Carlos and his family make you feel very welcome here. Good sized bedroom, spacious bathroom, own outside space with table/chairs, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Easy to get into town/national park on local bus (as per advice from Carlos), or taxi/uber. Breakfast and dinner available (at extra cost), dining area/bar is poolside. Amazing to be able to spot so much wildlife whilst relaxing in the pool.... So happy we chose this place - a wonderful spot at the end of our trip to remind us of the warm hospitality and amazing flora and fauna of Costa Rica.

Lovely family run hotel! You really feel like you're living in amongst the wild life here. A funny pair of Scarlet Macaws live in the tree above the pool and if you stay around the hotel you'll find monkeys regularly pass through the area. There was also a great walk through the jungle to a small waterfall at the back of the hotel.

This family owned Villa was adorable and brand new with all the amenities, including a private terrace, pool, and quaint outdoor restaurant. The room and beds were very comfortable. Quiet location and beautifully maintained property with much wild life around, and only a 10 min drive from all the tourist activities. Each morning and evening we enjoyed a delicious meal by the pool and visited with other guests and Carlos and his family. On the property we saw macaws, tuscans, iguanas, and white faced monkeys.

Difficult to think of anything really!

The location is a little off of the beaten track but, as a result, you can enjoy a very peaceful stay. The meals - breakfast and dinner (not included in the price) were excellent. They are cooked freshly to order - no buffets like many places we stayed. The al fresco breakfast also had a bonus of regular visits from scarlet macaws and monkeys passing overhead.

Our family, which consists of myself, my husband and our thirteen-year-old son, had a very enjoyable stay at Riverside Villas! The wildlife and surrounding nature was beautiful. The breakfasts and dinners were very delicious. The service from Carlos, Charlie and the entire staff left us feeling well taken care of at all times. A great location to explore surrounding areas, and with the assistance of Carlos we easily traveled by local taxi and bus. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and cool! We loved our vacation to Costa Rica and Carlos and his family are a large part of our fond memories.

Rooms are quite simple and quite close together. Never did get the TV to work (but admittedly we never asked for help.). Restaurant menu was somewhat limited (no sandwiches, for example) and nothing else in walking distance.

Loved the family run business, personal attention, and quaint vibes. Pool was refreshingly cool. Food at the on-site restaurant was as good as any we had in Costa Rica. Mated pair of Scarlett Macaws in the tree overhead was amazing. Location is away from the busy downtown area.

The Riverside Villas were in a very quiet area natural area away from traffic. The grounds and rooms were lovely and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and A/C cold. We enjoyed sitting on our deck and watching and listening to nature. The pool was so refreshing from the heat at the end of the day. As a bonus, they have a quaint and delightful restaurant on site which served excellent breakfasts and dinners. But most of all, we loved the owners and staff. Carlos and his son Charlie made us feel so welcome!

We had a great stay in this lovely family accommodation in the middle of the nature. Our bungalow was brand new and clean and it had a nice terrace. The food, both for breakfast and dinner was delicious. The pool area and garden were nice. The owners were super friendly and helpful.

Very nice place. Carlos was a great host and even allowed us to check in at noon already. The restaurant is highly recommended (the food is perpared freshly and with whatever catch of the days they find on the local markets). Great base for visiting manuel antonio and other sights.
