Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaDuring the rain we got water flowing from the ceiling, so they have asked us to move to another room, lower class, without any apologies or compensation. It was rude.
Location is perfect, just few steps from the entrance to the National Park. Or you can go through a private passage to the public beach with restaurants.

United KingdomThe pool wasn’t that appealing, breakfast was a bit hit n miss but sufficient.
Very comfortable room and hotel. Loved watching the monkeys and iguanas from our room and the fabulous top floor where we enjoyed sushi and cocktails with our sunsets to birdsong from toucans. Beds v comfortable and AC very good. Amazing location bang next to the national park.

United StatesThe rooms could use some updating. They were musty smelling with only two lighting choices and pretty small. The room also stayed pretty cold. The tile could be updated and Wi-Fi access could be a bit more consistent throughout the hotel.
The location was excellent. It is located next to Manuel Antonio National Park so you can walk to your tour. It also has walking access to the beach. There is easy parking on the premises. The family pool is large and has a great setup with a bar. The breakfast was pretty good.We did not have an ocean view, but enjoyed the benefit of seeing squirrel monkeys from our window. We also saw howler monkeys at the pool. The staff was all courteous.

United StatesSome of the spaces were a bit outdated. The pools were nice but for the price I would have expected a bit nicer. Being right next to the jungle means a lot of noise at night
The location was fantastic being right next to the park and walking distance to the beach. The architecture was a classic feel older hotel. Monkeys in the nearby jungle as well

United KingdomThe dinner wasn’t great - there are better cheaper places nearby. Other than that, we liked everything!
We enjoyed the pool, the location and the room was cool and large. Breakfast was good, especially the pastries. Staff were really helpful. Beach is stunning! We saw monkeys and other wildlife from the hotel grounds as it is next to the rainforest national park. The hotel provide pool/beach towels which was very convenient. Watching the sunset from the top floor with a cocktail was a lovely experience.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a sofa in room. Traffic at 9am and 4pm congested as national park opens and closes. Being dry season in December didn't expect to arrive in Torrential rain. This was disheartening, but it settled by the next day thankfully.
The view from the hotel room was beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and you sank into them cocooned. The location next to the beautiful Manuel Antonio nature reserve with all its marvels. The coffee at breakfast is lovely.

BelgiumThe breakfast buffet is served in a relatively small room, compared to the size of the hotel: this means there can sometimes be queues to have breakfast and that guests have to scramble for space. Other than that, everything was fine!
The Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio is one of the most important tourist attractions of Costa Rica, and the San Bada unquestionably enjoys the best location for those wishing to explore it: the entrance to the hotel is virtually next door to the main entrance to the park, and guests at the hotel can watch birds and other animals from the comfort of their bedrooms or their sun loungers by the swimming pool. The bedrooms are quite big, and most provide views of the tropical forest or of the ocean. There are two swimming pools in total, as well as a spa, and the hotel will gladly help you organise any other activities.

UkraineHotels in Costa Rica are generally overpriced and somewhat below the standard (where it concerns hotel room standard). 4-star in Costa Rica is like 2-3-star in Poland, let's say. And the cleaning standard could have been better too. Though rooms are normally spacious and double rooms feature two quite big beds. There is a coffee-maker in the room but no electric kettle for tea making.
Excellent location, literally next door to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park and 10-15 minute walking distance to the Park's beaches Really nice pool and SPA area. SPA service is also of a very good standard. My treatment with Abigail was really enjoyable, it's all about their relaxing and professional attitude Overall, helpful and friendly staff

CanadaTo have more options for eating on the roof, not everyone likes Sushi. Perhaps making use of morning bagels restaurant in order to have a morning coffee to watch the park wake up. The adult pool is located in a place you really don't to swim in front of people dinning.
The breakfast were superb and the children's pool was great.

SwitzerlandDefinitely not a 4 star hotel and price doesn’t represent the quality. The hotel in general looks like it was last renovated decades ago. Poor cleaning of the rooms. Old smelling pillows. The rest of the personnel is not friendly and seem like they work for tips only like the omelette station chef during breakfasts. The path to the beach is dodgy and they could have taken an extra step to maintain instead of advertising themselves as a beachfront hotel.
Right next to the Manuel Antonio park entrance, plenty of parking spots. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. Gerardo from the Congo restaurant was truly a man of hospitality and service—welcoming, attentive and made us feel at home.

Canadanot the greatest food at the hotel restaurants which was surprising. Staff seem to move around different jobs so some were not good waiters at all. All rooms face the back of some poor looking housing and empty unattractive empty lot.
huge room for two of us. Nice balcony with two rocking chairs. You could not get closer to the only entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. Nice swimming pool with features (bar, jacuzzi, waterfalls, bridge over pool). Stunning resort when you first arrive. Attractive main restaurant. Amazing view of sunset from top floor bar. Unbelievable actually, didn't even pressure us to buy drinks. Adult only pool on top level as well as sushi restaurant. Big buffet Costa Rican breakfast. Geraldo was very friendly and professional at the main restaurant. Easy 5 minute access to beach.
