I couldn't fault this hotel.

In a quiet corner of a busy town yet only 5 mins away from bars and restaurants. Beautiful grounds with a lovely pool. Humming birds and butterflies right outside our apartment. Rooms cleaned each day if required.Good breakfast choice. Loved the bird table where you see the birds feasting on breakfast leftpvers each day. Caught sight of the sloth as well!

Perfect location tucked away in the heart of town with parking and within easy walking distance to everything. Particularly lived the resident sloth in the tree just outside the property, we spent hours watching him.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Secreto La Fortuna! We were greeted by a warm welcome by the team, who were always available to help and were extremely friendly. Our room was spacious and modern. Each room has its own covered porch area with seats and a table. The best and our favourite part is the tropical garden, the volcano view and the pool area - OMG so beautiful and relaxing! The location is also excellent - you are right in the centre minutes away from all the bars and restaurants yet on a very quite lovely road

Would have liked a little more shelf or counter space in the bathroom-- though there is plenty in the room just outside the bathroom door. I found the room quiet at night. The third evening, though noise from TV in room next door was quite noticeable, so sound proofing might be an issue if you are unlucky with neighbours.

Very comfortable king-bed room room, excellent shower, so nice to have the view of the lovely grounds out my door. Appreciated having fridge and safe in room. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location is convenient, close to main square, walkable to Sendero Bogarin. Would stay there again if I return to La Fortuna. (and yes the resident sloths were still present in early Dec 2023)

We had three people in the room (two beds) so it was a bit snug.

This is a reasonably-priced property that is in a fabulous location - easy walk into the heart of La Fortuna but set at the end of a private quiet street. Just a block from a favorite restaurant - Snappers and near several spas. Best feature is the kind, friendly, professional staff. We also loved the breakfast, which was included in the room price - included coffee/tea, fresh fruit, choice of three options for main entree. On the property, we viewed a sloth and several stunning birds. Short drive to Ecocentro Danaus - a conservation site with butterflies, birds, sloth tours we highly recommend - as well as about 20 min. drive to waterfall and Arenal hikes. It was cloudy so we didn't use the pools on premices, but we saw a few others enjoying them.

I would've liked a microwave in the room, but they had one on site, so that wasn't much of an issue.

Breakfast was great with three options - all were filling. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and fulfill requests as well as just generally friendly greetings. I felt very safe while there. The grounds is much more beautiful than pictured.

The owner, her son, and everyone else were so lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good, with 3 different options (it is over at 8:45, but that was never an issue for us). Sloth is often in the trees near the property.

The hotel was situated in a quiet area of town, but was still super close to all the restaurants, bars and attractions. Staff were incredibly helpful and organised a taxi for us from the airport and to the waterfall one day. The room was big and clean with good air con. The outside area was also lovely, with an amazing view and the gardens are super pretty - attracting lots of birds - a highlight for us was seeing the hummingbird from the breakfast table every day - we loved it!

I booked here because it was a simple, affordable hotel in a great location. However, once there I was blown away by the beautiful gardens, floor to ceiling volcano views, and great breakfasts (fresh juice, fresh fruit, coffee/tea/hot cocoa, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, gallo pinto, plantains, etc). My kids liked the pools best. My favorite part was eating breakfast at the open air cafe and watching so many beautiful birds flit around their lush gardens. It's a gem! Room itself was simple and had everything we needed - hot water/good water pressure, shampoo/body wash/soap all provided, fast WIFI, etc. It was only 1.5 blocks away from cafes and shops. Great all around!

Beautiful property, very comfortable room, and the AC was a great plus. Breakfast was wonderful, served in a lovely setting. There are 3 choices offered, and between the two of us we tried all three. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, but a 3-minute walk from everything downtown. Overall, a great stay and a great value.

The room itself is rather basic - it is small, with limited storage, no chairs, etc. (has a mini fridge).

The property is clean, conveniently located and well-maintained. Breakfast is okay, enough to keep you going, a bit repetitive but OK for 2-3 days. Very conveniently located, you don't need a car to go to restaurants or supermarkets. The pool is a bonus. Friendly staff. Not much space inside the room but it was clean with working AC.

It was a outstanding place to be in La Fortuna. 3min by walk to the center but very quite. The swimming pools were nice and clean. The view in the garden from our hotel room was a little pleasure with all the butterflies and birds. The best of all were the animals in the garden and trees on the hotel area. The nice hotel employee Elver showed us multiple times different animals which we would never see without him. We saw more animals in this hotel then in La Fortuna. :D A sloth, hummingbirds, a basilisc, iguanas, poisonous frogs, Tucans and a lot of other birds.
