You can get by with the kitchen but expect 0 decent knives to be able to cut anything hard. Low supply of bowls and things. Not really any activities at night during my stay, it seems the main thing here is getting surf lessons.

Right on the beach, easy to meet other backpackers, kitchen to use, amazing sunsets. great cinema room. This is definitely one of the better selinas. The bathrooms are basic but at least clean. I did 1 night in the little cylinder rooms which was a cool experience. But its shared bathrooms. Not sure why people hate on Jaco so much. If you need a close beach destination to San Jose its fine (bus took 3-3.5hrs - San jose is a traffic nightmare), walkable, I felt safe as a solo female since its quite a busy main road with many tourists. The beach has lots of waves so good for surf. I went during the week and there were 2-3 bars to go to at night on the main strip, nothing crazy but fun chill vibe with djs.

In the dorms, there are no lockers where you can fit your big backpack in. There are lockers for valuables but it would be nice to be able to safely store all your luggage. The drawers under the bunk beds are not deep enough.

Good on site restaurant! Nice atmosphere! Feels like a safe retreat in the busy city.

Selina is a wonderful place to stay! The staff was really kind and helpful. I was here for one night with two kids. We had the family room which was very spacious, clean and the kids really loved the beds! I also had a massage by Oscar which they offer at Selina's. It was one of the best massages I ever had!!! So when you stay at Selina make sure to book some time with Oscar, it will make you feel brand new again :-)

Check in took too long and the lady seemed confused, there was really loud music which we could hear in our room. For the price I would and the fact it’s a hostel I’m not sure it’s worth the money

Everything was great!

I arrived in the morning way before check in and it was nice that I could use the bathroom and common areas while I waited for my room. The female dorm was very clean and I liked the ensuite bathroom. Also there is hot water for showers and a fan in the room. I ate at the hostel restaurant and enjoyed the food options. The prices were average for San Jose. I especially appreciated the fast wifi.

At first I was given a room right next to the common area - it was really noisy and the walls were paper thin. The hotel staff were really lovely and moved me to another room on the second floor which was much. So be mindful of where your room is! Also bear in mind the noise from traffic outside is quite bad - would suggest bringing earplugs!

Excellent location and nice property with bar and roof terrace. WiFi was great too.

It felt like there was a lot of potential to mingle and yet for some reason people stayed to themselves, at least during the day. The location was okay but it's a long walk to get to the California or other parts of town featuring the best bars, restaurants and attractions.

This hostel offers a little bit of everything. Bar, food, social gathering area, hostel hosted social activities every night, even a masseuse on staff. Rooms were comfortable and restrooms were spacious. The staff was very friendly.

A bit crammed - no space to move inside the room with luggage. Room with no window.

Comfortable bed. AC is good. Plugs in the bed and locker to store valuables.

The price is too high for the dorms. There is very little space available to put your items and move around. Unless you are a digital nomad and can take advantage of their excellent work space, there is no reason to pay such a high price for a dorm room.

The kitchen well equipped and nicely designed. The work room, very quiet and pleasant.

Shower with insufficent water and a the room was a bit noisy, due to street noise.

Beautifully furnished room, with plenty of space, a good bed ang a huge TV. Shower was ok (less water than expected). Nice staff at the restaurant and good choices of plates to eat. I was travelling with my 14 year old son and he simply loved it all!

Laundry services were not good, all clothes came back still smelling bad and had been just stuffed in the bag so were very wrinkled.

Breakfast was really nice.
