Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaOur room had a view of the parking lot.. We stayed in some picture perfect places, here in Costa Rica, and every single one had a breathtaking view... except this one... Cabins are extremely close together, you can hear your neighbors chatting at the crack of dawn. To wake up, walk outside, and see a parking lot full of cars, is extremely disappointing. 😔 We're at the base of a volcano... that would have been a nice view... but here I am, staring at rental cars... lol
The hot springs were fantastic, there weren't many people here so we could enjoy the hot springs privately.

United StatesWhen we arrived their credit card electronic machine was not working so had to run down to the city to get some money to pay in cash, whole stay it was not working. Hope they can have electronic payment system fixed so people can buy more drinking food etc. The pools closes at 10pm. Rooms in the bungalow can use more light, otherwise it was a perfect stay.
I can't wait to go back to Termales, great location with natural thermal pool on site. It is really suited for eco travelers, live with nature. Bungalows have living roof, yet comfortable inside. Everyday waking up listening many birds and howler monkey. Plenty of parking, good breakfast, great staff- Jim at the front desk is a great help, Madelin makes killer cocktails. Last of all, the awesome waterfall of the thermal pools can melt away stress in a second. I stayed before at other resorts, but this one is quiet, secluded, and quaint.

United StatesThe birds woke me early when the sun came up, but after all I was in the Costa Rica and that’s to be expected.
Beautifully landscaped property and so peaceful. The hot springs were not crowded and there are a few to choose from at different temperatures. The little bungalows are quaint and unique with thatch roofs. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was much more affordable than other fancier hot springs which made this a great choice.

United StatesThe credit card machine was down, but the property was very accommodating and let us pay with cash on our second day after we went to an ATM in town.
We loved the King Room with Roll-In Shower. It was spacious and included a large king, small couch, mini fridge, a huge bathroom, and AC that worked great. It is easy and cheap to uber into town. We loved the different temperature pools and drinks and seeing howler monkeys and other wildlife right from our room and the pools! The hosts were even kind enough to provide breakfast to go since we had early tour and airport ride pick ups. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy during our stay, but if it wasn't cloudy we would have had an amazing view of the Arenal volcano right from our room's bed/windows/porch. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a great experience at a price much cheaper than other local resorts!

Polandthe breakfasts have been very limited/no buffet. The chalets are nice looking outside and cleaned every day but small - hard to put comfortably all the stuff. I am not sure why almost no hotel I have been to in CR does not clean/dust the fans - there is always several layers of dust there.
the location is good, with termal pools which are not widely popular, do there are almost no "walk-in guests" there which means that we could have the whole pool for ourselves after the whole day, even in high season in Feb. There are many birds around the hotel which is nice. Regular and "pool" towels provided.

NetherlandsBungalow had a musty smell, especially after hot days. If you stay multiple nights your clothes etc could smell a bit. Breakfast although included, was a bit sad.
The pools were great! Available for use all hours and super clean. Site had hammocks set up with a view of the volcano. Peaceful place, and felt very secure. Okay bed, clean room, and everything matched the photos.

NetherlandsThe room we got was very basic and small. There was barely any space to leave our stuff and the safety box did not work. The main issue for us was the moisture in the room and the absence of AC.
Termales del Arenal is an accommodation located next to the Arenal volcano and it feels like you are in the La Fortuna jungle. They have nice volcano hot springs with different temperatures. It was an out of comfort zone experience - accommodation was pretty basic - that me and my friend enjoyed very much. There is free parking and the La Fortuna town is a short drive away. The breakfast was very nice and the staff was extremely professional and kind.

United KingdomThe small outside deck and seating area to the accommodations looked onto the car park. It was too far to walk into La Fortuna for dinner so we had to drive in every time.
Small and friendly so it felt very personal. We loved the accommodation, it was so unusual. The thermal pools were lovely and surrounded by plenty of seating, including hammocks, for relaxing. The staff were very helpful especially the manager who helped with suggestions for a coffee and chocolate tour which turned out to be a highlight of our stay in La Fortuna.

United StatesI'm very picky about pillows and didn't like the ones that came with the room but a simple request and I got two more pillows immediately that were very comfortable!
The breakfast here was one of our favorite meals our entire costa rica stay! The property had flowers and plants growing everywhere which gave it a cozy and luxurious feeling. There's not a whole lot of bungalows/cabins to stay in or a lot of people coming for day passes which means we typically has a hot spring to ourselves. Staff also treated us like family, cannot say enough great things about this place! Also saw lots of birds and howler monkeys here.

United KingdomThe food/breakfast options are not at the level of the place. They have a very tiny kitchen. We decided to go to the restaurant just near the place and have food there .
The room/cabin was extremely comfortable and spacious. The view of the volcano right in the front is a nice add when you wake up in the morning. There are several thermal water pools on the property, perfect for when you come back strolling the national parks.
