Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesVery nice stand-alone property with a convenient and private location (very close to Fortuna, Fortuna Catarata, and Thermal Springs). The setup of the property (access, space, security, and design) was very well thought-out, efficient and effective. The property manager, Alfonso, is very accommodating and prompt. There is access to a trail (along the river behind the house) which looks interesting and inviting; however, the heavy and consistent rains during our stay prohibited us from exploring the trail more, unfortunately.

United StatesAmazing Villa close to all the Arenal/Fortuna area sites. Short path down to a clear river which was great for a dip. Spacious deck looking out into the trees on one side and view of Arenal from the other side while listening to the water and birds. There are a couple restaurants down the road . Town is about a 5 minute drive (or $3/4 Uber ). The air conditioning in bedrooms worked well. Shower pressure/hot water worked great. Kitchen was spacious and had everything you could need. Washer dryer next to bedrooms was a plus to wash our hiking clothes. No air conditioning in kitchen and family room which did not matter to us at all because who would hang out in the family room when you have those views from your deck!!! I highly recommend this Villa!

United StatesThere's no A/C upstairs, so it takes a while to cool down in the afternoon when it's 35C/95F. Sunset solved it. Normal days (30C/85F) the fans kept it comfortable.
A beautiful view of Arenal and very nicely appointed. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms great. It was nice to use the grill on the upper deck and then dine, watching the sunset over Arenal. We also enjoyed the path down to the river...it was nice to wade and feel immersed in the wild.

Nice property. Well taken care of both inside and the grounds around it. Provides private access to a little stream, which the kids liked a lot. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that one can need to cook. Location is good; close to many different activities and grocery store. Can highly recommend it. Owner was very responsive to questions etc.

I loved everything! The location was in a tranquil place with the beautiful sounds of birds and the river behind. The view of the trees from every window in the house is wonderful. It was clean, beds were comfortable, wifi worked, communication with Alfonso was great. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything needed. The Bbq was a nice extra. We bought steaks from the butcher in town and enjoyed them at the villa.
