Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany(Not within the rating of the hotel!!!) Don’t go for the breakfast which is offered by the restaurant on the hotel area. For us only one option was available, quiet expensive for 6600 Colon and the amount. And also not tasted well for us.
Very nice hotel with modern style. Nice people and a beautiful pool.

CanadaCould smell sewers sometimes. If you don't drive, it is difficult because it is too hot to walk longer distances. It's a bit too noisy at night for my taste.
Very nice greenery everywhere. The reception guy is really nice

GermanyFor travelers who are looking for the classic hostel backpacking vibe it might not be the perfect place, but it definitely is great for a chill break from traveling!
It was really comfortable and besides sleeping in a dorm it felt like staying in a luxury hotel. Everything was really clean and the kitchen was okay too. There was free yoga class!

GermanyAlthough the hotel mentions Uvita, it is actually not located in Uvita but in Bahia and is located "far" away from Uvita if you don't have access to a car. The center of Uvita with shops, restaurants and cafes is 30 minutes away on foot and there is not a lot of options in terms of food and supermarkets nearby.
Very nice hotel/hostel located very close to the Marino Ballena National Park. Dorms were big with a lot of space for suitcases as well, and have a small balcony too. Beds and bathroom were all very clean. Hotel also has a nice pool and there is a good restaurant located "within" the hotel as well. Perfect stay for a relaxing day or couple of days in Bahia. Right at the end of the street is also the Bahia bus station which, although there are no frequent buses there, is convenient.

CanadaThe showers were always cool. Could not get even warm water. The air conditioner needed a repair, dripped all night. The hotel is on a very dusty road so patio doors and tables were often gritty. The beach doesn’t offer passes for a few days. You must pay each day. Breakfast is not included and is $22/day per couple. Even a continental breakfast would have been something. We ended up paying over $200/night Canadian.
The pool was wonderful and the staff were friendly. The room was a decent size and modern. The beach is in walking distance but charges $6/person to enter. We discovered they have a room with a small kitchen to prepare food. No one told us about it, as we would have prepared more to eat ourselves. The greenery and vegetation within the site is lovely.

United KingdomA coffee machine in the room would have been even better! Housekeeping only came once in our 4 day stay, although we were able to get clean towels, no problem. Not sure if that was normal, but it didn’t spoil a wonderful stay!
Fabulous clean, modern accommodation. Superb bathroom! Loved the handy pool and the extremely comfortable sun loungers provided. The staff were always accessible and helpful. Such a relaxing place! Short walk to nearby restaurants and the national park. The beach was a great spot to watch the sunset. There was a kitchenette at the hotel with a water dispenser, free coffee and cooking facilities. Loved our stay here!

United KingdomQuite pricey and no breakfast included. Not sure if the onsite restaurant is under same management or not but the staff there were arrogant and dismissive so hopefully not. We opted to use the kitchen provided by the hotel to get our own coffee and breakfast and avoid the abuse in the restaurant
Good location close to the beach and as a fairly new built property the lay out and quality of rooms around the pool is great

United StatesWould’ve liked a refrigerator in our room. But there was a shared kitchen, where we could put drinks in a larger refrigerator. Also would be nice if the road in front of the hotel was paved, obviously out of their control. But just to be aware when walking to the beach, it is a pretty rough and rocky road for about 200 m.
Beautiful hotel and accommodations. Great pool, although it was really warm. Reasonably close to the whale tale beach. Great yoga studio above the on-site restaurant.

United KingdomAdvertises free parking, but there are only 5 spaces and we got a spot in the car park only once over 3 days/nights. You can park on the road outside so it's not a major problem, just felt a little less safe leaving the hire car there. The restaurant is open to anyone, so it gets quite noisy, although is closed by 10pm ish so it doesn't go on all night. Wasn't a problem to us as a couple, but might be a niggle if you had young children. Only other issue was that the shower was cold, but that seems to be the same in much of Costa Rica.
Nice room and a great location. The pool was lovely and in a really nice setting. The restaurant was very good but fairly expensive, and you have to book in advance to get a table. Staff were helpful.

GermanyParking lot is quite small (for about 6 cars approx) with the restaurant attracting several people outside the hotel, parking space can be an issue.
Hotel was pretty nice, friendly staff, good location and with nice and clean rooms. Walking distance to national park. The restaurant is very good, we had a great dinner, albeit on the expensive side. Hotel also includes a small kitchen in case you want to cook your own meals, very handy.
