How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Excellent, comfortable and cosy hotel. All major sites and the beach are within walking distance. The staff were very nice and welcoming throughout our stay. The jacuzzi on the rooftop at the bar are a major plus. Nice way to enjoy Mindelo weather in a relaxing way.

Super nice staff. We liked the whirlpool on the roof and the convenient location to the ferry terminal, which is about ten minutes away on foot.

Nothing not to like!
Location, amenities, room and staff were all perfect. Right across from a grocery store and near the market. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Mindelo is a nice walkable little town.

The room was very spacious and clean, it had everything we needed. The hotel facilities and services were also great value for money. The breakfast buffet and the terrace on the top floor were our favourite features - so nice! We particularly appreciated the location (very close to the centre and just a 10 min walk from the ferry).

Everything is perfect

The area of Mindelo isn't the best, even though it is the most central location. I liked the area further north of the center better. There are a number of poor/homeless people hanging out here. I always felt safe, also in the middle of the night. The hot tub on the roof terrace is ok, but it's just a whirlpool that you probably wouldn't want to sit in with strangers.
This is a really nice hotel in the center of Mindelo. There's a supermarket right across the entrance, which is very handy. The personnel is extremely friendly and the breakfast is great. The walk to Praia Da Laginha is short (10-15 mins).

If this is your first visit on CV you might find the roads around the hotel a bit scary in the middle of the night.
New, modern Hotel in the centre of Mindelo. Very competent and friendly staff, a nice rooftop relax area. Even on weekends it's in a rather quiet part of the city. You can reach the ferry terminal within maybe 15 - 20 min by foot, taxi to the airport is currently ~12€

The location felt sketchy at night, would recommend to take a taxi to the door.

Super friendly staff. Elodie helped us book a day tour, dinner reservations, taxi and arranged everything for us. The facilities are great and everything is very modern and neat. The rooftop jacuzzi is a nice way to relax after a long day.

Bathroom has glass windows, so may not fit all travellers due to lack of privacy
Incredible place. We arrived from the ferry and they offered breakfast from that day even though it was not included. The day after, we had to get up early and they prepared an amazing early breakfast just for us

The staff was exceptionally friendly. The help and extra’s they provided was incredible. Also the location right in the middle heart of Mindelo. Clean rooms have all western standards (rainshower, soap miniatures, minibar, safe, tv with Netflix etc). The breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious things, both local and international. And don’t forget about the rooftop with hot tub! Amazing place, would definately recommend.

I like the location but the street level had homeless people asking for money.
Location was decent. Had homeless people approach for money but you’re gonna get that anywhere in cabo. Lot of shops around the hotel and great place to be if there is a festival in town
