Very good location in an upcoming part of Willemstad, within walking distance to all the main sights in the town, and close to both bus terminals. The room was very comfortable, with all the amenities that we might have needed (though the private bathroom was separate and not ensuite). Access to shared kitchen and a coffee/tea making machine available 24/7 was a nice bonus. Excellent breakfast on the terrace. Very helpful owners who arranged everything we needed (airport transfers, a boat trip to Klein Curacao etc). Most of all, welcoming atmosphere and genuine local spirit. Not everything was perfect, but we felt a part of the place and it was natural to blend in the local environment.

NetherlandsThere is only 1 key for the main entrance and the room so you have to move with a person/people who you are staying together. Also the toilet & bathroom is not in the room. Bathroom smells very bad because of the toilet drain.
It was clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is on average.

The King Suite was very roomy. Nice to have a kitchen, although we didn't cook. Simple breakfast on the patio. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We appreciated the laundry facilities.

The location to Willemstad was terrific. Every morning we were served a beautiful, healthy breakfast. When we needed assistance with Netflix the response was immediate and when the neighbors upstairs were a little too noisy, the owners didn't hesitate to contact them.

Absolutely everything! The owners and the staff is just amazing - so helpful and always with a smile. The room was really clean and beautiful with everything you need. For the rooms that don’t have a kitchen, there is a shared kitchen available. The deal with the pool is also the best! My mum and I really had an amazing time and would come back every single time - definitely recommendation worthy!

United StatesThe Villa is on the other side of the lagoon from the main tourist area, Banda, in among banks, minor consulates, and small businesses, so not an area that demands to be visited. It's about a 10-15 minute walk around the lagoon to where the restaurants and markets are. It's not a bad area, but since there isn't much to it, you're happy enough to get through the door and into this very pleasant accommodation.
The management here makes all the difference. The co-owner was there on premises whenever you needed him, helpful, full of information, concerned. The facility is really comfortable, and all the details are attended to. The approach is very modern; the co-owner can control everything -- door locks, heat pump -- from his phone, so if you have a problem, you can contact him and he can usually fix it at the touch of a button. He knows his island, and his recommendations are pretty much spot-on. When you like a place, usually there are some special touches that set it apart. For me, it was the free cappucino machine.

The location of this villa is perfect and very near to many attractions. The staff was very accomodating, always there to help and guide. The complementary guidebook provided was a plus. The stay felt comfortable and closer to a home like feeling and more personalised. Great quality personal care products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) were included and this was a bonus as well. The breakfast was quite filling: toast, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, fresh fruit and a variety of jams and nut butter. The unlimited coffee and tea available at any time was great. Overall, I highly recommend a stay here especially if you are looking for a quieter, slower paced and more personalised accommodation experience.

HIDDEN GEM! Great location away from touristy area with lovely restored buildings, within walking distance of city center and waterfront. Host was fantastic and accommodating with a vibrant authentic lovely aura. Our upgraded space was well appointed, thoughtful decor, clean with kitchenette, nice bathroom/shower, safe box. Breakfast included in outside area was quite fulfilling with an assortment of teas and coffees. Premises are well-secured. Area is safe. Secured parking is available. Owners readily available to address any issues.

SwitzerlandEven though the Villa is located at a very safe place (next to the Swiss Consulate and the Central Bank), before you arrive there, you pass also some locations of poverty. I didn't feel unsafe but I didnt' want to hang out in the night there either.
You get a super-friendly host at Villa Amalie. If you are there, you feel that the owner thought about how to make your stay comfortable and nice. It's not only, that they answer your questions, but also for example, they provide a really good shampoo & conditioner in the shower (which is a plus for a girl with long hair that doens't carry her own stuff due to weight reasons). Summary: It's in the details! Also it was one of the most comfortable beds I had. If I return to Willemstad, I would go back to Villa Amalie. With your booking you get pool passes for the St. Tropez Ocean Club. It's a walk to go there, but definitley worth it. if you want to hang out and relax. If you are looking for a hot shower - not in Villa Amalie. But honestly, why would you shower hot if the temperature is constantly around at least 30 degrees and you are sweating?
