    A quiet and pleasant place.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Standard King Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

The rooms have air conditioning, TV and include soap in the bathroom; In the room, place a brochure that explains how to use the kitchen (which items are free and how to use the refrigerator since it has various foods and it is not known if they are for use by guests or not); keep the refrigerator clean since it has a lot of food and is dirty).

The bed and the pillows, the tranquility of the room. The possibility of cooking.

The staff were very friendly and relaxed. The room itself was really comfortable and at first I thought I’d sweat without AC but the set up maintains a very comfortable temperature. The facilities have space for mingling and sitting that are very colorful in design and cute.

The shared kitchen very small but functional. A lot of noise but I got used to it. Would like a toaster.

Suus was a wonderful hostess in every way. The housekeeper was great. She even taught me to make arepas. I met some amazing young friends who shall be my friends for a long time.

It was a cozy place and contributed to our great trip!
    • Leisure trip
    • Group
    • Standard Double Room
    • Stayed 9 nights

I booked a room with air conditioning but I got a room with just a fan. Maybe this was caused by the upgrade I did some time after booking (from 1 person room to 2 person room). I wished I was at least informed about the missing air conditioning for the 2 person room. The good thing is that by now they ordered air conditioning systems for all rooms! Keep also in mind that the current owner is only there for several months and that they are working hard to do some fine-tuning!

Their effort to make sure you have a good stay was excellent! If there is something you need they really want you to ask and to tell them. If you do, they always help you in the best way possible. Another thing is that this B&B attracts very nice travelers. I would say that this place is also perfect for solo traveling (I was there with my friend).

    Great property, could use A/C

The only thing that could’ve helped was putting a small A/C or cooling options. Although the house is on a hill my room lacked one and one night the island breeze wasn’t blowing and then room got so hot I actually had to leave and get a room at a different place for a night. A cooling option, even if it’s time controlled in each room would be awesome.

The breakfast, staff and location were generally amazing. You will probably need a car to get to the property and for the price it was a great budget buy. The property also has alot of links to tours and other activities.

The location is great, if you don't have a car you're still in the city center in 15 minutes. The breakfast was simple but delicious. The person cooking in the morning is so sweet and will make you feel right at home. She is from Venezuela and made delicious arepas for breakfast. The communal space is structured in a way that makes it easy to make friends with the others staying at the accommodation, making it feel even more welcoming!

We arrived at the planned time and nobody opened the door, we were literally screaming like for 10 minutes until somebody heard us. There is a bell at the entrance, which doesn't work! There was not soap to wash your hands in the toilet. The pots in the kitchen were super burned. The kitchen was super filty. There was not a towel to clean anything. The room was super hot while outside was fresh and when we opened one of the windows, we could see many cruces as the cemetery is just behind the room!!!!

    Not much...

    Nothing

The accommodation is really well located. Within walking distance to the city, 15/20mins. The local bus stop is 50m away, beside the supermarket, so ideal to take the bus to and from the airport. There are also collective mini busses that pass, the drive into town in less than 5 mins. The Avila beach club is a 10min walk and worth a visit. Bring food & snacks if you're on a budget. Stephanie is so kind and friendly, and she is happy to help with any questions. We will definitely come back in the future. Thanks again 😊

Its very poorly explained how to get to the hotel and rven how yo check in. We arrived at 940pm to a closed gate. We never got to check in and stay and went on to book somewhere else. We tried to call and no answer. So all in all not a good experience.

We had a lovely stay at La Bamba, staying there twice during our stay in Curacao with a few days in Westpunt in between. The location is great to walk into town and drive to the nearby beaaches, e.g. Mambo and had off street parking. Such a nice relaxed atmosphere here. Suus was amazing and made our trip. Extremely helpful and great communication! Would definitely recommend a stay at la bamba!!!

Travel December 2021 - Accommodation expected to be much-much better
    • Leisure trip
    • Group
    • Standard King Room
    • Stayed 12 nights

Several points from the room #8 (room on the second floor under the roof, windows to local road) 1. Noise - with windows open, whole nights of people on motorbikes showing themselves and trying to produce the much noise, quite crazy loud road the whole night + quite loud fan in the room itself; 2. WiFi - wifi is not reachable from the room, only from outside area or in patio and the speed is quite low (all the time breaking connection or just not connecting to the internet). So forget of youtube, any movies-on-demand service. Can be used for surfing the Internet if you have temperance, messaging, google maps are sort of ok most of time; 3. Mosquitos - you have to leave your windows open to keep some air inside so beware of mosquitos, they are small, fast and waiting for you. We didn't buy any anti-mosquito spray but hey, windows DON'T have glass (just a wooden wooden blinds or shades) so mosquitos can come in and go out every second. i would expect at least anti-mosquito net in every room, including toilet 4. Breakfast DIY - While stay we got breakfast paid. Frankly speaking, it meant eggs, toast bread(no toaster), cheese, some jam, some peanut butter, flour, cooking oil, cornflakes, tea in packets, filtered coffee. So you should cook your breakfast yourself from this ingredients as good and nice as you can. Have I told that there was only one frying pan the OK size to cook eggs? 5. Kitchen - just not enough. Kitchen equipment is quite substandard even for my kitchen where I live alone and not cooking much. Just worth mentioning the only one frying pan without cover. Lack of forks, one or two knife, lack of everything. 6. Dirty - Kitchen was quite clean though as the cleaning lady does the work everyday (except national holidays which is OK) but in room we had many places of smashed mosquitos from the previous guests and a please with someone nose snots I believe. Toilet place without cover, dirty mirror on check in 7.

Quite a good location (30 minutes walking to city center or 5 minutes by car) with inside private area to park car (4 cars max), a nice view from some angle and several outside patios to enjoy or hide from the sun. Additionally to that, a nice check-in service. The administrator, Suus, is wonderful, really helpful, friendly and she shared lots of tips about the island. The cemetery is behind the wall, but the cemetery was the most peaceful and a nice neighborhood for the several years of travelling Thanks for fan, otherwise I would die from the heat even in the night
