Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA few quick bits: 1. Room - The main booking.com ad only has pictures of the 1st floor room with large balcony. We thought we had booked this, then when arriving found we were on 3rd floor with smaller balcony. The pictures are confusing, as once you proceed to book a room from main booking.com page you would then need to go in to each individual booking option to double check it's the room you think it is with larger balcony. The host would be advised to add pics of the 3rd floor accommodation on the main booking.com page, and when choosing room options stipulate in the title it is a different room offering to the photos on the main page 2. Dust - Appreciate there is works on the ground floor (presumably another accommodation in progress), but the stairs walking up and door handle to main door (on inside) were really dusty. Worth a quick wipe over in communal areas before people are about to check in. 3. Front door - Didn't automatically lock when we left the apartment to go out for food etc. Would be great if instructions were in the automated message when booking 4. Parking - Central studio so appreciate parking options are limited. Worth adding the top recommended place to stay also in automated message, instead of leeting users trawl through historic questions / conversations to see what is recommended
Location is second to none - really enjoyed the industrial attic/ loft vibe of the room. Kitchen facilities were good, check in process with lockbox was super easy and appreciated. Check out was hassle-free.

Abkhazia, GeorgiaIt was an Indian restaurant under our apartment with loud music and loud people. As a result we haven’t been able to get some sleep. I feel that they could improve the establishment by buying better sound proof windows.
very well designed apartment and very clean.

GreeceWhile the location is perfect, at the same time, during rush hours, the noise is annoying and you have to close the doors.
The location is central to the old city and the old port, close to a lot of restaurants and bars. The bed was very comfortable.

CyprusThe light in the bathroom was a little weak. Also, the bathroom was not completely separate from the rest of the room (one of the walls was - deliberately - missing). the hot water run out fast (only one of us had a shower with hot water). But the most annoying thing was the noise. it is suggested to the owners to install thick or double glass/doors to reduce the amount of noise generated from the traffic in Anexartisias street and the people walking around.
Overall the room was great. it was spacious, clean, modern and practical. the bed was super good.

BelgiumAlthough we did not need it, be aware that the kitchen does not have real kitchen facilities, as there is no gaspit to cook on, or micro wave/oven. Therefore, it is more qualified as hotel room than real studio. The street is a little bit noisy (the restaurant next to it had a karaoke evening until 12 in the evening), and because of the straight street - cars/motors dared to drive very fast/hard during night time. Also, if you are a light sleeper, you might not sleep long. The room has very big windows but the curtains can not make the room completely dark.
Nice specious room, into the city center of Limassol. The owners made a very cool design and the outside terrace is great! We enjoyed drinking our coffee on it, in the early morning.

CyprusSome things in the apartment needs maintenance. Shower was splashing all over. Because its in the city centre the noise was too much for us and I believe its not as good soundproof. If you are looking a place to relax its not the place for you.
The style of the room is really nice, well decorated and in the city centre. Near to shopping area and near to the beach. It was very clean.

United KingdomLack of attention, no real check in instructions…had to call, then no keys in key box and had to wait 15 minutes for someone to turn up and let us in after a long flight The general lack of care with the facilities….one mug for tea, only 2 coffee pods, no normal knives, no check out instructions….could be so much better with just a bit more care and attention

CyprusOne pillow per guest was a bit disappointing. Room gets very hot bc of lovely windows over busy Anexartisias st, which will make it nice for the winter. Air conditioning unit works fine, if a bit noisy. Research parking options before you bring a car. The Molos municipal parking is with a ticket machine that only accepts coins and a maximum of 8 hours. We opted for Salaminos parking lot, which is secured and shaded.
Brilliant location for exploring Limassol. Could not be more central. Easy and flexible check-in. Modern apartment design.

LebanonAlthough the location was great there were some setbacks. The setbacks were not related to the apartment but to the surrounding environment. The apartment was located directly above a street light(with a continuous clicking sound) so the street was pretty noisy with loud car music and engines(especially that we stayed there over the weekend). Another annoying thing was the hotel across which was basically empty but had speakers set up outside the building with annoying music all night.
Prime location. Beach and Marina were across the street. We woke up in the morning, went for a walk then took a dip in the sea.All shops and pubs were nearby. The apartment is modern with cute little details ( old radio, a pedal used as an art piece). The apartment was prepared for our arrival ( AC was on, towels, shampoo and soap were provided). The bed was very comfortable. The apartment has a huge balcony with jasmine bushes smelling amazing and perfect for your morning coffee. We simply loved the apartment.
