Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was confusion about the parking. The hotel is on a busy, one-way street, with no room to pull over. The parking lot was very near, and easy when you knew how to do it. They kept saying, "call when you get here and we'll buzz open the gate." Where is the gate...? I can't stop to call you, the people behind me would have a fit. I described my car. Someone should have come out, and showed me the gate. When they buzz it open, it's only open for a minute. I finally parked in a handicap spot, ran in and hysterically asked where the parking was. Thank goodness I had a small car, a large car could not have gotten in.
The beds was very comfortable, like a cloud. The breakfast was smallish, but it had everything that I like. They also have a refrigerator and coffeemaker in the rooms.

United KingdomThe staff know that the bathroom door in room 114 needs fixing. If hope they take the glass door off and make a new one slightly shorter, so that it you can close it easily. I couldn't close it. My husband did, but it scrapes badly on the tiled floor and it is going to eventually cause an accident for sure.
Breakfast good. All good

United KingdomBreakfast was poor. There was no proper toaster and the bread was very dry. We did mention this to the hotel but they said the air con dries out the bread… this was at 8am and breakfast only started at 7am. Fruit was also old and bruised. Tv had no English channels. Don’t really expect this from a boutique hotel.
Comfortable room and beautiful building.

HungaryOffering differend kind of pillows would be an extra, as for us the pillow was too heavy and big. For one night it was ok for us at the end but for a longer stay we would asked for the change.
Central location. The hotel is situated in a renovated house which had a great atmosphere. Stuff was really friendly and helpful, the room was nice and clean.

CyprusWalls are very thin and can hear other guests' talking while they walk to their room (me and my partner woke up couple times during our stay). Shower's water pressure is not that good and hot water wasnt as high as expected.
Hotel's location is perfect. Breakfast is decent. Room is quite small but bed is very comfortable. I love controls panels in the room. Amenities were good.

CyprusDepending on the room, it can be a bit noisy at night from the street. Nothing the hotel can do about that given the location which has the advantage of being close to the pedestrian areas of Limassol
This was our 5th stay at the hotel and it is still a very nice boutique hotel, with large rooms with good decor. An advantage is the car park on site and the close walking distance to the Marina area.

AustraliaHad the most amazing stay at S Paul City Hotel… initially I had booked only 4 days out of my 12 and then was so pleased that I extended my whole stay for the 12 days…. With a classic traditional facade hidden away just off a Main Street, this beauty is luxurious, modern and their customer service fantastic. Theoharis one of their reception officers was charismatic, accommodating and helpful… The rooms were out of a vogue magazine with touch screen lighting and aircon systems, a bath and extremely comfortable and roomy… already organising my dates for next year.

United KingdomWasn't a big fan of the shower to be honest. Some wear and tear, a bit of a smell sometimes. But that's honestly the only thing I can think of that wasn't great! (Also, just be aware, there is no pool or beach in immediate proximity, but ask the staff and they will happily give you some tips where to go!)
Lovely, calm and stylish boutique hotel, very nice and helpful staff, great breakfast. Close to the promenade for walks along the water, as well as some shops, restaurants and bars just around the corner.

GermanyEverything food-related was quite bad - overcooked, not fresh pasta for dinner, stale croissants for breakfast.
Great, very modern room, spacious and with nice design. The bed was quite comfortable with a choice of two pillows of different size. Nice shower with a very good water pressure.
